SWEATER VESTS!! When I say I’m obsessed with them, I really am.

The main focus in these fits was the dogtooth sweater vest that I paired with a plain black body on dress. I also added a pair of tights that I believe were inspired by Gucci. For accessories I just wore my watch, some gold stacking necklaces and a pair of chunky biker boots.

For me, makeup is a great way for me to have a mental release and is the best way for me to burn off steam. In my free time I’ve always enjoyed practicing and improving my makeup skills.

To create this look I used a variety of pink shades to create a Smokey cat eye look. To add some dimension and frame I decided to do a cut crease with a beautiful shiny pink shade.

Over lockdown, I really discovered how much I enjoyed styling pieces and documenting them to people all over the internet. I’d dress up nearly every day I wasn’t working as it gave me something other than COVID to focus on.

Brown tones will forever be my favourite, especially during the autumnal period. Mom jeans are always a go to, they’re a comfier and more stylish alternative than skinny jeans. I paired the black jeans with a brown ruched crop top as seen in a previous post, and added an oversized brown check shirt. Wear whatever shoes you fancy, but I decided on chunky white Air Force as they’re my favourites.

Many people, if not everyone, battles their own form of body dysmorphia. Being insecure with certain aspects of yourself is relatively normal, what we must learn from is that we shouldn’t have to change them. Nobody’s perfect and awareness of this needs to be made.

When I have a bad day and I feel like my rolls might be more on show, I tend to lean towards printed clothing. In this picture I chose to wear a cow print skirt with a short slit. The slit creates a flattering image rather than being completely covered. I paired it with a black sweatshirt and rolled it under to make it appear cropped. Add a pair of chunky trainers and your favourite jewellery and you’re set to go.

Nails... Nails have to be my most favourite accessory of all. They make your hands look so beautiful and can literally take your outfits to a whole new level. Over lockdown I decided to teach myself how to do nails. Although I’m not qualified, I think during lockdown 2.0 I’ll have to do a nail tech course so I can become a qualified nail tech.

I created these nails myself. I used a beige and a white acrylic powder to create an ombre effect. For some extra glitz I added some silver rhinestones. These may not be salon quality, but practice makes perfect and I’ll get there eventually with will power.

Although not fashion related, one of my biggest hobbies over the years has been makeup. I find it such a refreshing thing to do when stressed out as it gives me such a release. Having a passion and something you love is very important. Make time for it!

In this image, I was inspired by the Christmas season. When creating this look I opted for my main colour to be green as Christmas is all about the Christmas trees. To add something extra I decided to do a red and white eyeliner to create a candy cane effect. Christmas must be my favourite time of year!

On a daily, women are over sexualised over the littlest things. We mustn’t have bra straps on show, that would be inappropriate, but make sure you wear a bra because that’s just wrong. Short skirts aren’t acceptable in a work place because men get distracted. These are some of the many issues we have, and they aren’t fading anytime soon.

I opted for a low cut ruched top with long sleeves and paired it with a brown skirt in order to stick to the neutral tones. This fit would pair perfectly with a cropped black jacket and some chunky biker boots. Accessorising is a great way to spice up an outfit, so I added some stackable silver rings.

Most, if not all brands advertise clothing on a typical size 6 model, which is great if you are a size 6, but for us curvier girls it’s hard to know whether or not it’s going to flatter and fit our curves or if the jeans will actually get past our thighs. For me, online shopping is so difficult when my size isn’t there visually. If you sell a size 14 why can’t you represent one?

Bright colours are known to be a statement, I mean if you saw me in the street you would definitely notice me. Monotone fits are my go to as they just compliment each other. In this style I opted for the greens. I styled a green tie cardigan and paired it with a neon Zara racer top and a cute lace bralette to add some extra flare.

The term ‘midsize’ is not well know yet in the fashion industry. The term itself has been created through online socials such as Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest. Midsizes are the sizes between 10-16. A lot of people might think it’s pointless, argue that there’s only the usual sizes 2-16 and then also plus sizes, however there’s a lack of representation for the midsize community.

For me, adding a belt always improves an outfit. It sinches the waist and makes the fit so much more flattering. Printed belts are my favourite as they can turn a plain outfit into a showstopper.

Idealistic body images float around our screens daily, and sadly there is an ‘ideal’ body image in a lot of mainstream magazines, brands and runways. My goal within the fashion industry is to change or at least help the movement towards body inclusivity.

Overtime I have begun to understand my body shape and how I can style it to feel comfortable and confident. By choosing this dress, the rouching compliments my curves and creates a more enhanced hourglass figure.
