Thinking about how Will is El’s most free and healthy relationship with a man. The first time she feels truly like an equal with one. Their relationship is free of unintentional reenactment of her relationship with papa. Something that’s probably very hard for her. Her brain, built around her trauma, links being a man, with someone who has control over her. (At no fault of her own, or the non papa/henry men in her life.)
But Will is like her. A victim, a survivor, with a strong heart. Not a brother by the blood that was put in her veins, but by the experience of growing together. Will is healing. Will is home.
