second meetings / dongho & eunkyo
daleunkyo:
she wondered if it would even be safe to leave the house after what happened. it felt like the kingdom was on edge. ( or maybe it was just her. ) but she couldn’t help but worry who would be targeted next. someone wanted to make a point, someone wanted to make a scene. even if she wanted to be carefree, she couldn’t.
she couldn’t for three days at least.
it was at that point that eunkyo felt herself going crazy. she had to leave. it took no time to gather her girls - older ones this time - and a few guards to keep watch over them. finally, she could have her outing. and so far it had been a simple one. she didn’t want to shop much, it was nice to just breathe fresh air. she could possibly visit her father, but she knew he would tell her to return to her husband. so maybe she wouldn’t but it was still an idea. and she couldn’t help but be lost in her thoughts, it was the reason as to why she lightly bumped into someone.
“i’m sorry, sir.” the words came out of her mouth before she even had to chance to look at the other’s face. but when she did, a smile worked it’s way onto her face. “ah, it’s good to see you again sir.”
nothing was quite the same after the wedding. as much as dongho has immersed himself in the scope of his work as a needed distraction, the many questions still flooded his mind. the attack felt like an obvious provocation, and even though he knew that things around certain borders had always been on heavy patrol, he wasn’t expecting the palace to be one of the places to be breached.
then again, it was the perfect timing.
( it brought on pain for too many innocent people; then again in the art of war, there was no room to be conscious of anyone. )
the bump along the corner had him stopped in his tracks. lips parted to say something, he widened his eyes in surprise at the familiar face. he’s seen him before around these corners, far away from the palace before; but this wasn’t the meeting that surprised him. after all, seeing her at the wedding with her company was a far bigger surprise.
he bowed immediately, torso tilting slightly as he gave a firm nod “greetings, lady ahn.” eyes casting to her entourage, the general gave another brief nod again in acknowledgement. “it has been a while. please, send my greetings to his highness as well.” he paused, lips pursed slightly and then spoke up, “i also apologize for my rudeness, when i last ran into you at the markets. i wasn’t aware of your identity.”
