The chapelâs parking lot is absolutely packed, so much so that Sam thinks he got the wrong address. He double checks it, but when he sees the Impala parked towards the back, he figures this is definitely the place. He pays the taxi driver and heads inside, hoping to get a fucking clue what the hell is going on.
âShit,â Sam grunts as he dodges out of the way of a group throwing rice. Heâs pretty sure some lands in his hair, but heâs too busy trying to find Dean and Cas to worry about it.
Heâd gotten an urgent text about an hour ago from his brother, saying to get in his Fed suit and meet him at an address. Which was actually really vague and ominious, given that Dean never found cases on his own.
I really wish those two would get their heads out of their asses and start dating. They spend all their time together, theyâre clearly good for each other, and if I have to awkwardly cough to disrupt another staring match, Iâm going to shoot myself.
Maybe, he thinks as he watches a happy newly wed couple kiss in front of an altar, maybe they are already dating?
He dismisses the thought. He wouldnât put it past his brother to be insecure about the whole âdating a guyâ thing, but heâs almost a hundred percent certain Cas is a terrible liar about that type of thing. They wouldnât be able to hide it for more than a week without Sam finding out, that heâs absolutely certain of.
Heâs less certain when he hears Deanâs voice coming from around a corner, only to find his brother talking animatedly with a couple of women in wedding gowns. Dean doesnât sound like heâs working a case, and he definitely doesnât look like he is, not with that tux. Itâs almost like heâs here as a groomâŚ
And then Cas walks over to him, wearing a matching tux. They even have the same little flowers tucked in their pockets, and Sam has the sinking suspicion that he was dead wrong about whether Dean and Cas are dating.
Sam stands there, dumb struck, as Dean waves goodbye to the women and smiles shyly at Cas. He grabs Casâ hand and squeezes for fuckâs sake. Holy shit.
How fucking oblivious am I that I missed this?
⌠I wonder if Jody or Claire knows.
They better not fucking now. I cannot be the only one out of the loop.
âDean,â he grits out as he storms over. âWhat the hell is this?â
Dean smiles widely at his brother. âSammy! You made it!â
âWeâre getting married,â Cas says, putting a steading hand on Deanâs shoulder. âYou were never in any danger of missing the ceremony, though. We would have waited for you.â
âPsssh,â Dean snorts. âI told him to get ass down here, I knew he would.â
âThisââ Sam waves his hand around the chapel. âThis was your âemergencyâ? Fuck, Dean! I thought we were working a huge case or something. Not that Iâm not happy for you, but I was starting to freak out a bit!â
âYou did it to me first,â Dean says casually. Heâs barely paying attention, looking around for someone. Probably the priest or justice of the peace or whatever.
âWhat? What are you even talking aboutâ?â Samâs face turns white. âBecky? Are you talking about Becky? I was under a spell!â
âIâm under a spell, too, Sammy.â
âThe spell of true love, Sam. True love.â
âThat and at least half a bottle of Jack Daniels,â Cas puts in. âDonât worry, he agreed to the marriage while he was still sober. He also proposed last weekend. Itâs a good portion of the reason we decided to stop in Vegas on the way north.â
âDid you not think to maybe, I donât know, tell me?â Heâs trying very hard not to lose his temper, but these two idiots are going to be the death of him. âAs your brother and your best friend, I would kind of expect a little headâs up. A âhey weâre datingâ or something.â
Cas narrows his eyes at Sam and Dean raises an unimpressed eyebrow at him.
âSeriously?â Dean asks.
âWe did tell you,â Cas says. âA few months ago. When we were at that bar outside of Phoenix.â
Sam tries to think back to what the hell theyâre talking about. He remembers the bar. And lots of drinking. There was a bull riding contest, at least he thinks there was, but thatâs when the night starts to get hazy.
Actually⌠now that he thinks about it, thereâs a half remembered bit of conversation. Something crude Dean had said about riding Cas and Cas snarking back about how he prefers to do the riding. Sam had totally thought they were joking, and heâd meant to follow up on itâthought it might be a good way to segue into a serious discussion about their feelings for each otherâbut with the massive hangover all three of them had suffered the next day, heâd forgotten.
Before he can say anything now, though, the music starts playing and the ceremony starts.
Itâs actually really touching. They both had written their own vows and Dean doesnât dick around or make jokes during his. Heâs completely genuine as he professes his love for Cas, tearing up a bit when itâs Casâ turn to do the same, and Samâs pretty sure this is the sweetest thing heâs ever seen and that all future relationships are ruined for him if they donât have half this much depth and feeling in them.
When they head over to the attached bar after the ceremony, Sam canât stop smiling.
âIâm really happy for you guys. Seriously. Sorry I was mad and freaking out, but for real⌠Iâm honored to have been a part of your wedding.â
âPsssh.â Dean gives a dismissive wave and hides behind his shot glass, but the blush gives him away. âWhatever, Samantha.â
âThank you, Sam,â Cas says. âItâs an honor to be an official Winchester, and Iâm very glad you were there as well.â
Sam and Cas hug and Dean looks like heâs about to cry again, but instead he calls over the bartender.
âIâd like to order another round for me and my husbandâŚâ  Â
send me 3-5 emojis and iâll write you a ficlet about them
