‘Ello, ‘Ello, Hola! Ciao and Bonjour! I’m da man, or damanman, or da man/man (you get the point lol)! My blog (this blog!) will be mostly about Pokemon, Kirby, Mario, and Shovel Knight things, with a little One Piece and Octopath Traveler sprinkled in between. (basically whatever fandoms I’m currently hyperfixating on)
But above all else, this blog will have a lot of art. I’m a hobbyist artist and draw basically whenever I have the time, if I post some free to use art I WILL SAY THAT (by tagging it as F2U and Free to use) otherwise, my art is not free to use, please don’t use it, that’d be very uncool of you :(
I may also use this blog for vents and/or rants sometimes, and if you’d like to avoid that, simply blacklist the tags: da man rants, da man vents, and da man pers. And you should be all good!
Also!! Social interaction isn't always at the top of my priority list, and tumblr isn't at the top of that either, so if there's ever long stretches of me not posting or interacting at all, dw I'm fine! I'm just focusing on IRL things. (likely school)

Info on tags:
da man rants: this is for when I feel like I'm yelling at clouds but still want to post it, it's basically all about opinions. (NOTE: this is never meant to specifically offend anyone!)
da man vents: for venting. mostly light-hearted but if it ever gets a bit extra, I wanted this to be it's own tag.
da man pers: for real life stories. I'm very secretive about my personal life but if there are ever fun stories and other things I'm comfortable with sharing, this is a tag for that!
damanman art: for my art! Almost all of it is pixel art.
da man yap: this is for me to yap about my fandom interests like Pokemon Horizons, PMD, Kirby etc.
Extra Notes:
-I don't mince words. I might say things that are a bit too direct, without realizing it. Just know I'm never out to explicitly offend anyone!
-I can be a bit excitable. So just, be ready :P
-I'll try my best to wait a bit, but I'd overall consider this blog not spoiler-friendly. Make sure you're caught up on the TV/Movies you're interested in, I'll try to hold back somewhat though.
-I am a, Heterosexual (straight), Cisgender, Male, who is very supportive of LGBTQ+ (ally to LGBTQ+). If any of this bothers you, please keep it to yourself, or block this blog.

These are the only sprite designs I'm going to need for the game. I think I've gotten the hang of pixel art next I'm going to either create a side/back view or animate the sprite or design sprites for the other characters hmmmm. Also watched a Godot tutorial today and I'm still fucking confused. My main programming language is Python and GDscript is essentially structured the same but I'm still so fucking confused but I guess I'll figure it out.
Also, this is just a style preference, but you may also want to avoid having outline pixels touching sides, if you want it to looks smoother. Letting outlines touch vertically and diagonally typically looks cleaner, in chibi style.
Full transparency, it looks fine to me, for my own Horizons Fan projects (since I'm too lazy to do overworlds over other sprites), I've been using this free use set for a year or so, so maybe you could look at these and see what the difference maker is?
Crazy how we call not using AI and denouncing it, the anti-ai revolution, when I'm pretty sure us as humans came before AI but maybe I'm just tripping.
I get way too excited whenever I see someone make a Black OC, that actually has important features beyond just dark skin (which is still important), like yeeeees another who gets it!!

Looking through some old posts and convos I've had (particularly about my negative stance on piracy) and it just REALLY irks me looking back at it like; wow, you didn't absorb anything I said did you...
I'm constantly trying to improve the clarity of my words but it's maddening looking at older situations and seeing it like that.

If I had a nickel for every time there was a green-haired Horizons character that was massively underrated by the greater fandom, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice.
Never though SOHDAYO (also like the only character I prefer the japanese name of) would be the character to make me have an artistic revelation lol. I kept redoing his sprite thinking it was too crowded/messy, until I realized that that's literally Sohdayo, so I just went with it. I was really committed to this pose, as aposed to just standing up straight, and I'm glad I didn't fold because I really like this result.

A Bang is an event where writers submit short stories based around a theme (in this case, 'Everyday Life with Pokemon'), and then after those stories are done, artists create pieces based upon those stories in collaboration with authors. Once the event is finished (sometime in the autumn), we'll have come together as a creative community!
