Usually he’d be asleep at this point at night, but he can’t sleep tonight. It happens sometimes, painful memories keeping him awake. It’s then that she spots the wolf, not too far off then. Usually he’d be running, hiding in fear, but this wolf is so beautiful, he can’t help but stare. It’s the first time he’s ever seen one like this.
It was a strange scent-- something not quite human but not quite animal either. Job spotted what looked like a human and pretended not to see him as he followed the scent further. It had to be him. Job looked directly at the male and laid down, eyes still on him. He attempted to do his best pet impression in hopes the other might come to him.

There was a sigh, and a woman of slight physique and little height stuck her from behind a pillar which had long since been claimed by a deep purple ivy. From between the broken marble, Deathbells pushed their way through and into the dappled sunlight from the crumbling arches above.
“Yes? What do you want?” Gods knew what this seemingly not-so-human had been up to, some kind of pagan ritual. There was a black salt everywhere.
He breathed lightly and watched the woman carefully. He didn’t understand what she may have been doing there-- he never looked much into pagans if he were honest. Maybe he should have. . . but Job approached, catching a new smell between that of the salt.
“Sorry to interrupt you, I was just following a lead I had and it brought me here.”

He shouldn’t have come so close to the city-- the scent had just taken over him he supposed. Job knew he was close to the end of the trail, but now he was spotted by a woman. He knew they might be scared but he quickly sat and hoped she would not be scared. He shook his head and jingled the tags on his collar in an attempt to say he was a domestic wolf.

“Aw hey, it’s nice’a you! Not a lotta people worry about others. It’s a good trait, honest.”
he flashes a quick smile at the other, genuine in his tone & expression. it’s nice to know friendly people.
“I’m – alright, I swear. You okay?”
Job was glad it didn’t seem to weird the other out, he chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck before answering. He hid his concern well, though that smell still worried him to a degree.
“Thanks. I’m fine, oh-- I’m Job. Job Grady.”
He offered a hand, smile staying on his face.
Job’s hair is incredibly soft and fluffy, it’s almost ridiculous how fluffy he is. The only down side is that he sheds like crazy, even out of wolf form. His hair grows quickly and his hair tends to look more full during the winter. Job usually has to brush his hair and be brushed in wolf form at least twice a day when she sheds.
“mm’? o-oh, yeah, sure!”
he’d been off thinking about something else entirely, the man’s voice gently shocking him out of a slight trance,
“did i space out again? sorry, i do that a lot.”
“It’s fine, you just seemed a little out of it or something. Sorry, I’m kind of a mother hen, I worry a lot.”
More like an anxious dog, but the phrase worked well enough.

The smell was awful-- the closest thing Job could compare it to was death. Job didn’t know what happened to the man, but that scent was too much for him to ignore like everyone else was. . . or maybe humans just couldn’t smell it. “Uh, sir, are you alright?”
CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT, BUT SATISFACTION BROUGHT IT BACK.
I SHOULDN’T HAVE SURVIVED, BROTHER, I AM SO SORRY.
I WANNA KNOW ABOUT THESE STRANGERS LIKE ME, TELL ME MORE, PLEASE SHOW ME.

He didn’t know how to explain the feeling he got from the woman-- it was strange and intuition told him something was different about her. With his current leads getting him nowhere he decided to try to find out more if he could. Job smiled as he approached, trying to appear friendly. “Uh, excuse me, do you know where I could find the nearest hotel?”

Something smelled. . . off. Job entered the temple, having traced something back to this place. He couldn’t tell what it was but he was completely alert, eyes scanning for someone and his ears straining to listen for something. “Hello?” He called softly.
