How does YAGP work? When are awards?

Yagp finals is an international ballet finals so it includes kids from other countries and essentially they compete for prize money and they have classes that are like auditions for intensives and bigger school programs. Its a week long

Pre comp is the onky divsion where a dsncer can compete one or both of either categories. (Contemporary and classical)

Junior and Senior you have to be proficient in both to qualify for finals. But in the final round only your classical score is replaced for your total.

At the regionals and finals there are overall awards where the dancer that is proficient in both categories is awarded according to their divsion pre comp-hope award, junior-youth grand prix, grand prix- senior. But at finals there are 2 more in the junior and senior, Shelley king and Natali makarova. But these are onky given away ate judges discretion okay.

Theres like 40-50 stateside regionals and 15 internationals so its a big deal to get in because japan easily had 2k routines compete last October and only around 50 dancers overall qualified for finals.

I think awards are the 17th or 18th

My ranking system for ties:

if several choreographers have the same amount of wins, they are ranked based on how many different age divisions they have choreographed winning solos for. In my system more age divisions = higher rank

if they are also tied in age divisions, they are listed alphabetically and considered equal

everyone below the black line (1 BD) is listed in order alphabetically, per division

the column on the right shows how many winning solos they have choreographed since 8/2023

Male BDs are not included because a lot of the choreographers are really hard to find and I didn't have them in my previous post. There are also a couple of old FBDs missing
