Today, we celebrate the birthday of our favorite Ultimate Novelist, Sugahara Kanji. With how busy he is with his schoolwork, latest release, and various other responsibilities, celebrating his birthday isn't exactly something Sugahara has time for. Either way, a simple "Happy birthday" text from his sister is all he needs to keep up the productive spirit.

Today, we celebrate the birthday of Ichikawa Chousuke, the Ultimate Basketball Player. Ichikawa chooses to spend his birthday with the person he cares most about: his significant other. Hand in hand, these two young lovers take a nice stroll around the city.

Today marks the birthday of our Ultimate Marine Biologist, Hashimoto Hiroko. Despite being born into immense wealth, Hashimoto doesn't exactly have the luxury of birthday parties. All she gets are a few meaningless gifts from her absent parents she doesn't care for and a day off from her usual year-round training.

Today, we wish a happy birthday to Ultimate Swordsmaster, Hayakawa Akito. He prefers his birthdays by himself, doing whatever he feels like doing. He's chosen to do some exploring around Tokyo, after all, he's wanted to come to the city for a long time now. It appears he may be looking for something, what could it possibly be?

Happy birthday to our lovely chess master, Watanabe Tomoki. He doesn't usually celebrate his birthday, spending it like he would any other day. After all, why spend time at a party he doesn't want when he has exams to study for?

Today is the birthday of our lovely medic, Ito Getsumei. She makes it a point to not only enter, but also win her community's annual egg hunt every Easter, this Easter just so happened to line up with her birthday. She wins every year, and this year is no different. Don't worry, she leaves some eggs for the little kids also in the hunt.

A message from the creator

Hello everyone, as of now, it has been a month since the last Danganronpa: Roses and Thorns update. I am making this message to not only break the radio silence, but to also apologize for infrequent updates.

I will admit that I do not have any excuses for the infrequency other than procrastination and loss of motivation. The remaining episode has been written, but the CG has remained dormant for weeks.

Do not worry, the project has not been cancelled, it has just been on pause for quite some time.

I will be out of town this weekend for Easter and will be unable to work on the project. However, I will do my best to get the next episode out by the end of next week. The birthday art for Ito Getsumei, which takes place on Sunday, is already scheduled and will still be released at the correct time on the correct date.

Upon the release of the last episode of Chapter 0, there will be a gap between uploads for writing out and illustrating the prologue. I'm letting you all know ahead of time to have you all know the next gap in uploads is for an actual reason.

Again, I am sorry for the gap in updates. I am a single person working on this project alone (which I would like to stay that way), and I hope you will all understand. I hope you'll keep supporting me and this project.

Today marks the birthday of our favorite ballerina, Shimomura Kokoro. Being born on leap year, when on non-leap years, she celebrates her birthday on March 1st instead. Let's wish her well during her special day.

Watanabe Tomoki will be Student Sixteen during the killing game. He is incredibly shy and timid, but is rather strategic in his actions. He plans his words carefully and can often see a person's moves far in advance. Perhaps that strategic mindset could be a great advantage for him.

Pari Jiyuu will be Student Fifteen during the killing game. She can be rather distracted at times, but her creativity is something that can't be ignored. She is confident and proud of who she is and plays by her own rules. It appears she is aware of you all, will she do anything with that knowledge?

Hayakawa Maki (Daisy) will be Student Fourteen during the killing game. She doesn't branch out socially much and doesn't trust easily. She's developed a strong hatred towards her sister and wishes not to be involved with her. Hatred can go a long way, who knows how far she may take it?

Hayakawa Saki will be Student Thirteen during the killing game. She is quite popular online and has a large fanbase. She's described as the perfect girl, but is that what she truly is?

Hayakawa Saki is the protagonist of this series, hopes are you will find her interesting.

Hayakawa Akito will be Student Twelve in the killing game. He is much stronger than he looks, and is often underestimated because of it. He may not be the most confident, but that hidden strength of his is admirable.
