"The goddesses and mortal women who do appear in myth are mothers, wives, mentors, temptresses, ogresses, and victims. Occasionally, like Daphne, they are mysterious alien creatures without voice and whose motivation, power, and behavior thus remain enigmatic.
These are promptly dismissed, placed outside the primary narration or they become part of that which the hero must overcome. The women who remain figures in the central narrative play supporting roles in the stories of heroes. Danae, for instance, was entombed with Perseus, but only Perseus emerged heroic Neither Theseus nor Odysseus would have accomplished much without the intercession of Ariadne and Athena, but the stories are of the hero' triumph.
There are stories which focus on women. The often analyzed myth of Psyche tells of a wife who learns to contain her curiosity and become deferential, and the tale of the hapless Atalanta tells first of her hero behavior in the Calydonian boar hunt then discredits it as inappropriate of a woman.
There seems to be no acceptable, self-determined heroine in the bunch. Women are props in the hero's drama...Women are furtionaries, backdrops in a mythology which insisted, sometimes with notable aggression, on the metaphoric centrality of the hero.
âMeredith A. Powers, The Heroine in Western Literature
So as you see... Vivzie writes female characters closely at the level of Ancient Greece.
Octavia only exists to be a daughter. Loona is a daughter and the only time we see a softer side of her is related to a manâ either her crush on Tex or excusing Stolas to Octavia. One time with Blitzo in the Beelzebub episode, because god forbid we have an episode without him.
Millie is a wife. She's a warriorress but she's more of a tool and doll than her own character. In the episode where we meet her entire family, the focus is on Moxxie. In the episode where we meet Crimson, Millie's role is of wife and emotional support person.
Stella is just the angry bitch, just a slightly more intimate Verosika and less wanted Barbie. Glitz and Glam are just the mean girls. We can barely tell them apart and they somehow suffer more damage than the main asshole Mammon.
Admittedly, Vivzie does something different than the old myths(or most media): the men are weak (and stupid) and the women are strong and smarter. Stolas loves to be a damsel in distress. Moxxie did become competent after an entire season. Striker is still a threat but he's a joke. Crimson is another joke. Chaz was a walking sex joke.
Mothers somehow suffer worse than old Disney's. They're in the background like Lyn(Millie's) and barely make any scene. They don't even have a name and exist in imagesâ Moxxie's mother. Meanwhile we can't even be sure who the hell Blitzo's mother is, we can only hope it's the Tilla from the pilot.
Who's Stolas' mother? Did he become orphaned young, was she exiled or imprisoned? Who cares, Paimon and Cash Buckzo are sooo interesting as parents and show us why those characters are the way they are/s.
We revisit Fizz's trauma and Barbie was edited out in the final product. Did the mom never matter? We can see the dad and we see little Fizz, but no Barbie and the mother? Even though Blitzo spent an entire episode looking for her?
It's like Vivziepop does everything in her power to avoid writing women. It's like she has a phobia of them. I'm sure she truly doesn't, but I just have to wonder how the hell do you avoid the same female characters that have more appearances in the merchandise?
DaniDraws is an anti but she's so fucking gross. She already took inspiration from bird genitalia and made a how-to guide drawing about it for Stolas. The cloaca is canon so whatever.
But then she fucking does this. It's fucking gross and idiotic.
First of all, Bee wasn't a world famous twitter artist. Not everyone knew her. How the fuck do you know that everyone that followed her recently had known her when she was a minor? Why is that not only logical to you, but you gossip about it and shame her and strangers?
Secondly, Bee has been posting soft NSFW since she turned 18. She has extended her boundaries in her own pace and put it public. There's nothing wrong with that.
Also... People grow up. You were a child, I was a child, we all grew up and got into NSFW. If it was real life, then suddenly sharing nsfw with someone you saw for for, what, two years might be weird. But this is the fucking internet. Bee is a twitter artist. Dani is talking like Bee had been a Tik Toker or a singer. No, she's an artist. People are interacting with her work.
You don't automatically become sexually attracted to an artist because of an NSFW. A NSFW piece is not an Only Fans. It's detached from the artist enough that you can be aroused by it and the artist will be comfortable since it's something they made, not them.
So Dani thinking, then posting this? You're the fucking creepy one.
PSA: Someone at one of my work's branches has already had a seizure from this movie, so I'd love if folks passed this around before the big first weekend! Might save someone from a very unpleasant trip out

I have an au idea where Danny loses his memory everytime he goes ghost and turns human again, so he doesnât know heâs part ghost.
After the accident, Danny doesnât have any control of his powers, so his ghost half runs off of every instinct it has instead. If he feels threatened by the ghosts, or someone is in danger, or theyâre in his âterritoryâ his ghost half takes over and he runs purely off that. No one ever catches Danny transforming because his ghost instincts make him feel really overwhelmed, so heâll go some place alone that heâll feel safer. Which is why itâs so confusing to Danny when he comes back into âconsciousnessâ (detransforms) that heâs injured, and in a place that he definitely wasnât beforehand.
Danny still gets his powers acting up in his human form, but he doesnât know theyâre ghost powers, and just thinks theyâre either a figment of his imagination or a temporary side effect of the portal accident. Dannyâs parents, Jazz, Sam, Tucker, his teachers, probably more people begin to get concerned as to why his grades are slipping so quickly, as to why heâs always injured, always running away somewhere, always really tired and drained, and even Danny doesnât know himself. Heâs studying just the same he did before the accident, yet his grades are falling even though nothing has changed. Heâs randomly injured all the time, and some of the injuries heâs ended up with shouldâve been fatal enough to kill him. The only one he could answer for is the running away part that he gets overwhelmed easily so he goes to a safe place, but even then he ends up somewhere completely different.
Meanwhile, the Amity Park citizens have been beginning to pick up on a ghost who is actually good and fighting on their side and is in plenty of newspaper articles. Someone manages to get a tv interview but the ghost seems pretty out of it the whole time. Danny thinks that ghost looks familiar.
Overtime, the âflukesâ have also been pretty annoying to Danny, suddenly falling through floors, his friends suddenly not able to see him, dropping random objects, they canât be figments of his imagination because theyâve happened too much. Danny overhears his parents speaking about the new ghost (not knowing itâs actually himself), and hears something about invisibility and intangibility. He realises that he has ghost powers, probably from the accident. He doesnât look like a ghost though, and he still has a heartbeat.
On the flipside, Phantom, believes he died in the portal accident and is now a ghost. He knows he randomly appears at times to fight the ghosts, and presumed he just goes back to the ghost zone (he transforms back to human). He knows his parents are the Fentonâs, but also thinks he canât be, because the Fentonâs already have a son who is very much not dead. True, Phantom has never seen him before, but thereâs been enough discussion of the Fentonâs âdelinquent sonâ to get the drift that heâs probably never around. Phantom starts to put the pieces together when he overhears Jazz talking to Sam and Tucker about Danny Fenton, and that she thinks the reason he is absent is because of the portal accident. Phantom realises that this is the accident he died in and works out heâs Fentonâs ghost, but this doesnât explain why no one has brought up his death or why everyone still refer to him as dead.
To sort things out, Phantom decides to try to talk to Danny Fenton to make sense of this. If heâs referred to as alive, he must be out there somewhere, right? Cue many hours of Phantom trying to find himself.
Meanwhile, Danny decides to try and control his powers, and when he does, he finds that he begins having strange memories of his parents pointing guns at him, being really high in the sky and being surrounded by news reporters. Heâs pretty confused.
Phantom has been getting lots of publicity, and Danny doesnât know what to think about the âgood ghost capturing ghostsâ because from what Danny sees the town is always infested with ghosts so Phantom mustnât be a very good hero.
Not able to find (himself) Danny Fenton, Phantom decides to put a note on Dannyâs locker so they can talk. Enter one Wes Weston. Heâs been suspicious about Danny and his resemblance to Phantom, but this pretty much confirms they have a connection. He steals the note (so Danny never receives it), and begins to confront Danny about how heâs connected to Phantom. Danny denies everything, and in fact is even doubting the existence of Phantom â heâs never seen the ghost before, plus thereâs no such thing as a âgood ghostâ. Danny tells Wes that Phantom doesnât even exist, and storms off.
Everyone is concerned at the revelation that Danny doesnât believe Phantom exists. Jazz / his parents ask why, and Danny says heâs never seen Phantom so thereâs no proof he exists. Danny leaves and decides to get more control over his powers. For some reason, he has a memory of putting a note on his own locker, despite the fact there was no note on it when he got there, only Wes. He feels gets freaked out at these weird memories, and turns into his ghost half (not knowing).
Phantom is confused as to why heâs in Danny Fentonâs bedroom, and doesnât find him anywhere. He goes to Jazz to ask where her brother is, because he doesnât want to Fenton parents to shoot at him. Phantom tells her heâs Fentonâs ghost and needs to talk to her brother, except he has never seen him before. Jazz is shocked / confused, but is almost instantly aware that her brother is Phantom, not just his ghost, but as human too. Jazz manages to calm him down and since heâs not freaked out anymore, Danny detransforms into Phantom. He doesnât know why heâs suddenly in Jazzâs bedroom. Now Jazz is aware her brother is a ghost and a human.
Danny begins having strange memories of talking to Jazz again and even remembers walking through the wall (which heâd never do, because he doesnât want anyone to find out about his powers), but this time he can actually hear what is being said. Heâs asking Jazz where himself is, which is really odd and weirds him out.
The next day, Wes confronts him, having figured out that Danny and Phantom are one and the same. Cue Wes spreading rumours. Danny says thatâs stupid, he canât be someone who doesnât exist. When Wes turns away in a huff as no one believes him, Phantomâs note for Danny slips out of his folder. Danny picks it up and realises that Phantom does exist.
Thatâs all Iâve really gotten up to so far, but overtime, Dannyâs ghost half wonât rely purely on instinct because Danny has grasp of his powers so he over time gets more memories from his ghost half. Heâll begin to connect these memories from the things said in them and where they take place as belonging to Phantom, and wonder if the things that Wes says are true. At the end he realises he is Phantom, and knows there must be a way that he transforms into Phantom, and for the first time transforms into Phantom out of his own free will, not ghostly instinct, and because he knows he is Phantom, his memories remain intact. However, itâll take a lot to adjust to realise heâs been the one whoâs protected the town, fought ghosts and the entire time he didnât even know himself.
khonshu watched steven whip up that star map with some packing tape in the sand and talk about how the sky has shifted over the last few thousand years and was like âoh damn gurl maybe I underestimated uâŚ. u can help me rewind the sky as a treatâ
Bit of continuation sketches of the staffbot mike au (inspired by @glam-rock-freddy)Â
-Mike can`t talk in this au because staffbot`s voice boxes arent that developed, only a few have the right voices to be able to talk. He mostly communicates with a tablet or beeping noises
-Mike`s first instinct when he sees the other animatronics is to protect Gregory, but he fails when the others catch him and Vanessa wipes the floor with him (she`s had a rough week ok)
-Headcanon that he was the one to make music man, so when he finds the tiny animatronic wandering in the vents he brings him to the office to fix his coding (Music man is not happy about it)
-After he gets a bit used around Freddy, he meets Sun but hes very weary about the sun faced animatronic, more than with the others
-Hes hostile and distrustful of the other animatronics for good reasons
-Vanessa makes him work like hes another employee in the pizzaplex. He does night/day guard duties (The others have to force him to rest, because this workaholic idiot doesnt know the word break)
-âI will fight any animatronicâ he swore to himself, *Sees DJ Man* âbut that, that I won`t try to fightâ
FNAF SB AU inspired by @glam-rock-freddy `s Staffbot!mike au. Please check out their fanfic! Link:Â https://archiveofourown.org/works/36604303/chapters/91300471Â
In this au we follow the Princess Quest Savior Ending. After freeing Vanessa from her alter ego, Gregory stays in the pizzeria and helps Vanessa in fixing the other animatronics and Freddy. After a week of living in the megaplex, Vanessa and Gregory find one of Vanny`s hideouts that seems similar to the one of Parts and Service. In there they find a weird deactivated staffbot strapped to a work tableâŚ.Â
Will probably continue in future notes :P
Additional Notes:
-Vanessa doesn`t remember her time as Vanny that muchÂ
-After golden Fred`s body is destroyed, Evan and Cassidy separate. But Evan finds himself back but possessing Fredbear plush
-Helpy survived the fire but he is not found until much later, Mike made sure to salvage him before he died.
-Mike is not happy with his situation lolÂ
-Staffbot Mike`s eyes turn black and purple pinpricks appear when he starts acting unstableÂ

Where do snipers tend to aim when they are going for a kill? Are they more inclined to aim for the head or do they take the easier shot and try for the heart?
Usually, above the target, and ahead of them if theyâre moving.
Weâve talked about bullet drop before, but the basic concept is that the bullet is a physical object, and affected by gravity. The scope will be zeroed to a specific distance. For example, it might be zeroed for 50m, 200m, whatever. If youâre aiming at ranges closer than that, the scope will be slightly too low, if itâs beyond that range, the scope will be calibrated too high. In either case, a sniper can adjust, and this is the entire purpose of the striations in a rifle scope. These will represent the drop over a fixed distance. Combine that with a rangefinder (if the range is not known), and an experienced sniper will, likely, be aiming over their targetâs head at long ranges.
How much the bullet will drop depends on the cartridge and rifle being used. This is part of why snipers are very possessive of their rifles.
This creates a situation where, at long ranges, even if you know the exact range, it is safer to go for a body shot if the option is there.
The second part of where they aim is âleadingâ the target. Again, a bullet is a physical object, and while itâs moving very fast, itâs still going to take time to travel to the target. If the target is moving the sniper needs to account for that and aim where the targetâs path will intersect with the bullet, rather than aiming for where the target is currently.
Additionally, wind and other factors can affect the bulletâs flight path, particularly at longer ranges, meaning that the sniper needs to account for those as well.
So, where do they aim? Not at the target. Theyâre aiming somewhere in the general vicinity of the target, based on the physics involved.
As for where they want the bullet to connect? Headshots are flashy, but center of mass shots are far more reliable. At that point, itâs a personal choice by the shooter, which theyâre going for.

Q&A: Bullet Drop was originally published on How to Fight Write.
Hey yâall, so Iâm not really a reference blog exactly, but I figured I would share some of my experience in writing (and in life) with a character type that a lot of people seem unsure of how to represent. That would be characters with partial or complete blindness. I myself have one character who is completely blind, and I too am on the low-sighted spectrum, so I figured Iâd clear up a few misconceptions about characters with blindness! This is a long post, so part of it is under a read-more, but I include subjects ranging from medical details to describing non-visual senses to handling romantic relationships.
1) Blindness is totally a spectrum. Someone who is legally blind at 20/200 vision doesnât see ânothing but blackâ. In fact, people who are legally blind can sometimes see enough to use some adjusted devices or read large-print books! Legal blindness (or low vision) means that someoneâs eyesight is very poor even with their highest corrective lenses. 20/200 means that something 20 feet away from them has the same definition as something 200 feet away from a well-sighted person. Thatâs why 20/20 vision often represents âperfectâ vision, because objects at 20 feet look like theyâre⌠well, 20 feet away. Sometimes, legal blindness can be caused by natural degeneration from severe myopia (nearsightedness) from age, extreme strain, or just genetics.
2) When thinking of what a visually impaired person experiences as far as sight, ask yourself if the description is necessary first, then listen to interviews or podcasts for a description if you do need it. Please donât take the word of someone with no eye function at all and apply it to someone with severe myopia or cataracts, because blindness varies. People with one cause of blindness may have cloudy vision, extremely blurred vision, âmissingâ spots in their sight, or lack of color, while someone without any eye function (or without any eyes at all) will wonder why youâd even ask! Often âa black voidâ or ânothing but whiteâ isnât exactly true. Someone who doesnât see color or light wonât see a lack of light either! Black? White? What? You really donât have to even describe what they âseeâ unless they are partially-sighted.
3) Characters with all forms of disability can still do some badass shit. They can defend themselves as well as another character, they can learn to navigate a new space, they can play games and run and be athletic. They can be artists, musicians, or even own their own business. They can do their own household chores. They can be great parents. They can use modern tools and devices with the right adjustments. Donât be afraid to let them accept - or ask for - help, but please donât make it seem as though theyâve become useless. Give them all kinds of talents! (for example, my visually impaired muse can channel spirits, tends to her own herb garden, and is a classically-trained soprano. Possibilities are endless, you guys!)
4) Cause of blindness should be known if you insist on describing your characterâs full facial appearance and how their blindness affects them. But remember this: you donât have to draw attention to the appearance of someoneâs eyes constantly. Donât let that be the only thing that defines them. Here are a few tips though: many people who are legally blind have very ordinary-looking eyes. The cloudy white/blue eyes you often see is usually from diseases like cataracts, while paled eyes without visible pupils may be from congenital (childhood) glaucoma. Other forms of glaucoma cause black spots in the iris. Cataracts and glaucoma can coexist in one person. Eyes can have an inflamed red sclera from bacterial infection-induced blindness such as meningitis. Some infectious diseases require removal of the eyes (we see this in cats and other animals all the time). There are tons more reasons. When researching the cause of your characterâs blindness, pay attention to the level of impairment, because not all causes of blindness have the same outcome!
5) People whose eyes have nerve damage donât always move perfectly together. As tempting as it is to give your visually impaired character the ability to eerily stare directly into someone elseâs gaze all the time, often people who lack nerve control in the eyes have issues of mobility now and again or even constantly: eyes that move independently, one or both eyes that wonât move at all, one pupil stuck in full dilation (anisocoria), and they may not be aware that their eyes are moving in odd places. Please donât use this as fuel for humor, as some folk go out of their way to cover their eyes constantly because of this. Speaking of cover, not all visually impaired people wear sunglasses like the cliche in movies. Many will wear them in public because their eyes are very sensitive to light rays or because the light gives them horrible headaches, while others choose to cover their eyes because theyâre aware that their eyes lack mobility control or theyâre shy about a drooping lid/etc. Not everyone who has problems with vision wears something over their eyes.

How TV Cartoons Are Made - A (Mostly) Simplified Guide
When I was in school and wanted to work in animation, there was very little information about how cartoons are actually made. Even my professors at college knew very little about the industry as it is today. Iâm sure it wouldâve been better to study somewhere in California (like CalArts) to be better informed about this stuff, but I didnât have that opportunity.
Nowadays, many kids in school have a dream career that they donât really know much about. Thereâs a lot of missing bits of information and a lot of straight up lies that get circulated as fact as people try to scramble to put the pieces together on how cartoons for television are actually made.
Iâve been storyboarding for television for a while now, and there still arenât clear resources for those wanting to get into the industry. I wanted to make the basics available to everyone, so hereâs a quick rundown through the TV pipeline. Please note: all studios and productions are different. Even cartoons made within the same studio could have wildly different production guidelines. This is not a concrete explanation of how every cartoon is made; this is simply a generalized look at the âtypicalâ television pipeline.
**DISCLAIMER** All images in this post have been sourced from blogs, twitters, scribd and flickr pages are publicly available, and no internal studio materials have been used that have not been already published publicly online. This post is influenced heavily by my own individual experience, as well as friendsâ.Â
With that said, this might be a lengthy read, so letâs go!
