Hey everyone! So, after much thought and consideration, I decided to make a Studyblr!

I’ve been following studyblrs on here and Instagram for at least a year, but I was to scared to start one of my own. And tbh, I’m still scared haha. But I honestly think this will help me be more productive, as I’ve been the ultimate procrastinator this last year and it has seriously affected my grades and my motivation. And I think meeting new people that relate to my problem is a huge plus!

I’m a 21 years old, Colombian college student majoring in 3D Film and tv production. Also known as animation. My goal is to work for Disney or Pixar in the future. Both of them have made a huge impact on my childhood and I want to do the same for future generations. I love to draw and create characters, but learning in general is something that I really enjoy!

I’m also a crazy cat lady (my profile picture has a photo I took recently of one of my cats), a potterhead, and a 100 more fandons condensed into one tiny little person idk how I handle it. My favorite Harry potter character is Luna Lovegood, who also happens to be in my favorite Hogwarts house. It was just meant to be. Luna is a character I relate to on so many different levels and hence the name of my blog!

So lastly (I think i’ve prolonged this post enough lol). I want to thank @studyign, @studywithinspo, and @focusign for being the first studyblrs/studygrams I found and have been following for a long time now. You guys are the reason I wanted so bad to make a studyblr! I know it seems like I just followed you, but that’s because I just made this brand new account haha. And also a huuuuuge thank you to @elkstudies, @text-booked, @etudiance, and @obsidianstudy for your AMAZING how to Studyblr posts they really helped me prepare for this. Maybe a little too much man this post is long.

Why do women need a whole day about them?

Because Ada Lovelace wrote instructions for the first computer program in the mid-1800s and I had no idea.

Because, F. Scott Fitzgerald plagiarized his wife, Zelda’s writing and used it in The Great Gatsby and his other books.

Because, black women, let alone any women, were not aware of the great contributions Katherine G. Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson made towards NASA and the space program.

Because the current president of the United States is a self proclaimed ‘pussy grabber’.

Because doctors (both men and women) are only NOW seeming to realize that women patients cannot be treated based on male patient information.

Because basic products cost more for women than they do for men.

Because feminine hygiene products are taxed.

Because Renee Richards existed before Kaitlyn Jenner and she fought policy in the NY Supreme Court, but she doesn’t get talked about.

Because Marsha P Johnson was basically removed from a movie about the Stonewall riots.

Because there STILL aren’t decent pockets in most women’s clothes.

Because Maria TallChief founded the Chicago ballet, but I’m sure most young girls who dream of being a ballerina don’t know about her.

Because Frida Kahlo and Georgia O’Keefe were amazing artists and people, but they weren’t the only female painters in history.

Because Evelyn Glennie is the first person in history to successfully create and sustain a full-time career as a solo percussionist.

Because Crystal R. Emery’s documentary, “Black Women in Medicine,” was amazing and should be seen by more people.

Because men are still determining how and when my body should and can be used and function.

Should I go on?

try to specify what type of blog you are in your URL. for example: if you are a studyblr, try including the word “study” or anything study related in your URL. this makes it easier for your future followers to know who you are!

Khan Academy- a life saving website that teaches you about everything: it personally saved me from failing math!

Kahoot- this is an amazing classroom+revision tool. simply design your questions with MCQ answers and test your students/classmates/friends. it’s really fun too!

Sparknotes- most students live by sparknotes! it definitely gives insight and perspective to literature (though i do not recommend relying on it completely)

Grammarly- it is incredibly helpful with those pesky grammar errors- no more having to face grammar nazis anymore!!
