28th April – Bumthang Valley, Jakar Village The 209km from Punakha to Jakar Village took us a full day’s drive through changing valleys, unspoiled countryside and winding up and down four passes ranging up to 3400meters above sea level. Obviously the drive included; picture, sightseeing and lunch stops, and road blocks due to the road works. No wonder, I felt great and like I had a arrived at the end of the world when we finally drove through the beautiful Bumthang valley and into Jakar Village.

4 passes from Punakha to Bumthang valley and this would have been the kind of vehicle I travelled in if the group wasn’t waylaid by the earthquake in Nepal, instead I had a 4X4 with front seat :)

I cheated, didn’t see this in the wild.
