There is no twist or turn predicable enough that it will fail to surprise him. People are forever admitting that they lied to him and need to come clean. If he thought they knew nothing, they know the secrets to everything. If he thought they knew the secrets, they know barely anything.
If he thinks someone is at a place, they’re definitely not. If the thinks they’re not, they’re definitely there and waiting to ambush him.
If Kiryu thinks you’re safe, you’ve been kidnapped. If he thinks you’ve been kidnapped and are in need of rescue, he will burst in on a completely calm scene in which you are a guest.
If he think’s you’re alive, he’ll only find you once you’re dead. If he thinks you’re dead, you’ll walk into a scene and surprise him by being alive.
If Kiryu thinks he has the jump on someone, they have thirty armed men on standby and a hostage that’s dear to him for good measure. If he thinks he’s facing impossible odds alone, the friends he explicitly told to stay out of it will arrive in the nick of time.
