"Papa…" Five said, slightly whiny, "What is new experiment, question?"
"We've prepared a guided meditation for you to watch before the translation section. It should help you feel calmer and more focused. Clear your mind of any… unnecessary thoughts or feelings."
"Meditation…" she repeated slowly, taking each syllable apart in her mind and putting it back together again. "Define?"
"It's something best experienced, not described."
"Oh, okay," she said. Then after a beat asked, "Why?"
Papa smiled, looking down at her as he opened the door. "You'll see."
Howdy! Do you perchance still have the list/screenshots of what cassettes are on Nancy's nightstand? Asking for a friend. ;3c
(The ronance writer's guide will thank you. It's taking long enough to put together as it is.)
Unfortunately I didn't see this until I got to work, so I only have a couple off hand I can add here now. I don't think I ever definitively identified the bottom 3 fully. I have a list of best guesses. Ultimately in the chapter where that scene happens I went with what I thought fit Nancy for the time and some future plot things (based on posters and other context clue plus her general arc) so I settled on Jennifer Rush (the top tape, will show you in a moment), The Beatles (tied in to the comments later about Karen singing Beatles songs to her, so they're sentimental to Nancy), Blondie (she has their poster/calendar in her room) and The Cars (part of me was thinking of a few specific songs when I picked this one but could easily swap for The Bangles or Madonna). I wanted the second or last one badly to be a Eurythmics one in reality because I feel like Nancy would be very into them/Annie Lennox too (We Two Are One could possibly fit one of them potentially even, if one squints just right lol)
I also figured out some of fhe books that were under the tapes/on other shelves. I can send you updates when I am home BUT:
The top tape is absolutely Jennifer Rush's self titled album.
You can see the shape of her dancing on the front cover oc the stack plus the text on the spine fits her first/last name:
honestly one of my favorite things about fanfic is when you can see the canon influences come out in really subtle ways. like a canon line thats mentioned once as a throwaway is suddenly the entire premise for a fic or it influences the characterization or something. its just so cool to see how people weave their ideas around a source material, especially if its not a detail i'd thought about before
Hello everyone! It's been a while since the first update, but I've been busy both writing fics and collecting information for the guide (and my own personal collection :3c). I got the behind the scenes book that released today and... to immediately be able to look at it and go "that's wrong", yeah, yikes. Seriously, look at it's map of Hawkins and see where they put Cornwallis in comparison to the Wheeler's/Byers' houses. Ridiculous. Plus, literally NOTHING about Robin we don't already know! None information left grief.
Anyway, I was so devastated about wasting fifty dollars on that thing that the ronance gods (Amy Parris, thank you, thank you) took pity on me and blessed me with a new find worth sharing!
I've been mainly searching for all of Robin's accessories and dumping them here for now:
One thing I was struggling with finding were the button badges on her Family Video vest, and that's what I finally found today! This hidden gem showed them in good enough detail for me to search them up. Since they're a bit freaking expensive and I own a button maker, I thought I'd just make them myself. As a gift, here's a printable version for you to do the same! Please note that I did make the Mahdi's Magic Circle from scratch, so the font/spacing won't be exact to the original (I tried my best, team).
Also, another movie Robin canonically likes! The Wicker Man (1973). The button badge she has is from the re-release in 1978. The Mahdi's Magic Circle seems to be from a radio show (30s-40s).
I've also been collecting reference pictures and props from different locations they've visited (and other fun mundane events that one might want to write them attending/visiting).
HELP WANTED!
If you have/can find any clear images of these things, I'd really appreciate it if you'd send them in! My submissions are open! (and I can keep it private upon request)
Robin's bike (seen in season 3 episode 3 and season 5 episode 3)
The keyhole-eye/spy patch on the back of Robin's season 4 jacket
Robin's backpack and the button badges on it (Seen in season 3 episode 2 & 3 and season 5 episode 3)
I've been combing the internet for literal months and haven't found much. Though, Robin's bike does say "I'm just sick with the paradise blues" along the right side.
