back on my lottielee bullshit because what do you mean i come to you for spiritual guidance? you baptize me, during said baptism i have a vision predicting both your and my death. you die, and i’m wracked with grief and guilt over not saving you, and anger that everyone seems to have already forgotten you, so i give into my “gifts”. i try to embody everything you were to me. i spend my whole life cannibalizing your image, and 30 years later i’m still brought to tears at the sight of your ghost. i’m trying to help people, i’m garbed in heliotrope, all for you. when the worst of the visions come back, all i can yearn for is my death, my half of the vision that’s yet to come true. i seek it out intentionally. i recreate my vision. i die. my younger self greets my spirit and i panic. “have i missed it?” my younger self reassures me i haven’t. she asks, “are you ready to meet her?” your leitmotif in the background, and i am. finally, i am.

CATS OUT OF THE BAG, HERE'S AN INVITE FOR EVERYONE WHO'D LIKE TO COME BY AND SAY HI
Opinions
This was shared with me and the person pointed out that the character Gail's referring to is MacKenzie DeNeer, a nothingness character who hasn't done anything wrong at all because she's perfect, except she's a single mom. So we wonder, uh... does Gail really mean to imply, by saying Kurt sees the good in people, that being a single mom is a character flaw? Because what else is there? MacKenzie has no personality, no individuality, has never made a mistake. She is a non-entity as I like to say about such characters. You can remove her from the storyline and virtually nothing changes except Kurt doesn't have a girlfriend. What exactly is Gail trying to say about him "seeing the good in people?" Because looks to me like he's "seeing the good" in a good (but incredibly boring, by comic standards) person. Gail, please take your boring little self-insert out of this story and start writing a comic for everyone, not a fanfiction for yourself. We go to Ao3 for that where it's free. As for "X-Fan Tom D," he really ought to go back and read some older Kurt comics, where Kurt actually gets to be a superhero and the entirety of his personality isn't based around his Catholicism and inherent goodness. Kurt is a fucking badass. He can take out a whole room full of "serpents" (creatures) by himself (Excalibur 62-64), he has taken on otherworldly beings (Excalibur 16-17) and government black ops groups (Excalibur 98-100) and been prepared to fight Calisto single handedly (Uncanny X-Men 170) and also to fight the Technet alone to get his teammates back (Excalibur: The Sword is Drawn) and that's the tip of the iceburg. Kurt is not some prissy little goody two shoes character. FFS new fans, I recommend you do a little research into his history. You might find you end up liking him even more. If nothing else, go read the original Excalibur run.
just got banned from the Queer Anti-Capitalists community and the message just said "liberal". it'd be funny if this wasn't the modus operandi of basically every leftist community. i didn't espouse any pro-capitalist sentiment or anything (cuz i don't have any), but apparently disagreeing with ppl about whether or not socialism is "scientific" is enough to get u banned. or maybe it was me saying that i don't actually think mamdani is a useless do-nothing reactionary. either way, the idea that either of these could serve as justification for banning me from an anti-capitalist group is ludicrous.
what i suspect actually happened is that one of the guys i was disagreeing with (@pean7tbutter or @agaypieceofcheese) in the comments on several posts is a mod and just decided it was easier to ban me than engage with my arguments. hell, ignoring me was a possibility too, but no that just would've been too civil. these fucking ML's ruin leftist communities because they're so opposed to being challenged on literally anything. any disagreement makes u a liberal, a fool, and a traitor to the revolution. never forget that these ppl aren't actually political allies u can trust. they'll stab in the back anyone who isn't as dogmatically in favor of the worst misinterpretations of leftist theory as they are the instant they have the power to do so. and they always go back to the same tired Lenin quote as justification. cuz anyone who disagrees with them is necessarily counter-revolutionary, and counter-revolutionaries are not to be argued with, merely dominated. never mind the fact that there is no revolution to be counter to at the present historical moment, that's hardly the point
anyways, tl;dr im a liberal, apparently. liking mamdani makes u a liberal. unless its doubting the extent to which socialism can be a scientific enterprise is what makes u a liberal. they didn't mention which it was
As a child of divorce myself, I really feel for the X-Men.
