Inspired by this post

Before I watched MP100, I fully thought Reigen was in his mid-30s. I really didn't know anything about his character or his relationship with Mob or any of the others, so it was quite jarring to watch the show and discover that he was actually 27-28. Not only was I closer in age to Reigen than Mob, I was much closer in age to Reigen than Mob, and at a similar life stage as well.

Re-experiencing the series through the manga, I am acutely aware of this fact all the time. Every time Reigen messed up, every time he was callous or shortsighted, wasn't just because he was an ethically dubious conman, but also a barely functioning twentysomething who really had no clue what he was doing most of the time. Everything Reigen did wrong was something I would likely do if I were in his place.

And it's nice to see that he has people around him to give him either the grace or the reality checks he needs. I really need the reminder that I too have such people, and that if something goes wrong (even if it's my fault) it's not the end of the world.

MJ: ...I...I wanted to know if she'd be coming over for my grandma's bridge game.

Peter: Yes.

MJ: ...Will, you also be escorting -

MJ quickly puts her foot in the doorway when she sees Peter go for the knob. She knows he won't risk intentionally breaking her foot...

MJ: 5 minutes. That's all I'm asking. I'll leave without any fuss.

Peter: ....Fine. Go..

MJ: ...Okay, so, I broke up with Paul.

Peter: 4 minutes, 50 seconds.

MJ: What, isn't that enough?!

Peter: 4 minutes, 40 seconds.

MJ: Fuck.

Peter: 4 minutes, 35 seconds.

MJ: *pulls out her notes and starts sweating*

Gwen Stacy in 616 was a TERRIBLE person

Very selfish and aggressive and judgemental

And it was very clear she and Peter would break up eventually

The Sam Raimi films? Many people who hate MJ hate her because of those movies. When, ironically, that MJ was closer to an adaptation of Gwen than Ms Watson. And on the other hand, Gwen is Spidey 3 is closer to comics MJ

I never watched the Raimi films. I know her more from Spider-Verse. I just remember hearing Gwen was Peter's first love. The whole idea that when Gwen died it broke something in Peter.

Gwen in Spider-Verse is once again nothing like comics Gwen

She is more like the Gwen from the Amazing films, slash the Ultimate comics, slash how people remember Gwen with their rose tinted glasses

Gwen was Peter's first real, proper girlfriend. That is true. And that's why loosing her broke him

But also... It's what brought Peter and MJ together. Because they where friends, Gwen and MJ. She lost Gwen to. And they managed to help each other heal

If we go canon Gwen, I'm more familiar with the Spectacular version So the thought of Gwen being a bitch feels weird to me.

Spectacular is, again, more based off the ultimate universe in a lot of character dynamic stuff. As well as the current view of canon, if that makes sense

Any time Gwen is reference or looked back in now, and especially back then, it was as a glorious perfect figure

That kind of reasoning is why Sins Past was made, as bad as that story ended up being. Because the writers knew others where just glorifying the memory of Gwen when... They ACTUALLY remember what she was like

Sounds like an Aerith situation. The stuff post her death shows her off as this angelic figure. When in actuality she was street smart, and was ok with fleecing a few people out of some money if they gave her a reason to if the remakes are anything to go by.

my "How 2 Start Reading Batman Comics" zine I debuted at MICE this year! it was soooo much fun to put together, especially for baby's first mini-zine. Printed, it's only 6 interior pages and about medium hand size.

reminder: this is written for people who genuinely have no idea where to start, and it's from the POV of someone (me) who managed to get into Batman this way!

Oh hey tag game :) Thank you @russenoire ! Haven’t been around tumblr in a long while so glad I caught this! 

favorite animal: Its always been giraffes, and I don’t know what I’d change my answer to since I love a lot of animals a lot! I went to the zoo not too long ago which was really awesome. 

last song: I think Taroko by August Greenwood. It’s a cute one I’ve memorized the lyrics to so I can sing along! 

currently reading: Nothing right now but I’m not a big reader usually (other than fanfic of course haha) 

currently watching: 90s Moominvalley! I’ve been wanting to watch it for so long and suddenly stumbled across the full series on YouTube under the official Moomin channel. 

currently craving: Right now…..not much. Maybe a water. Or a sandwich. 

currently working on: I’ve been hopping back and forth and around writing. It sure is something. I’ve also been tackling the big ugly monster that is ocd. As tiring as it is to stay optimistic and keep prevailing over and over, I’m not taken down that easily! I even got my Mob Psycho 100 tattoo! 

looking forward to: Going to college! Making friends, studying psychology, growing up more! I feel like I’ve already lived an entire lifetime, and I’m still only this young! I can’t wait to find out everything I’m going to laugh about and cry over! I keep getting told adulthood isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, but I say adulthood can give me its best shot! 

I haven’t been checking in with tumblr to see who’s been active at all over these months, so not really sure who to tag. But I think some I would have tagged have already been tagged anyway, so I’ll just say thanks for doing that job for me haha!
