RobStar Week 2026, Day 6 - In-Between
(Coming around the home stretch, this was one of the ones I really liked doing this year. Just a little collection of rooftop moments for RobStar after either significant episodes for their relationship or season finales. Enjoy!)
---
It was sometimes a gamble whether or not Robin would be up on the roof at the same time she was. Sometimes he rose earlier than her, and was gone before she went up there. Sometimes they passed each other on the stairwell. (Sometimes she could convince him to come back up with her.)
But sometimes, very naturally, they both found themselves gravitating towards their usual spot, center middle of the Tower roof, facing the sea. Wound up each other's company for the morning. Starfire liked that they could either sit and talk or just enjoy each other's presence in comfortable silence with an equal amount of ease. There was some kind of... oh, what was it the Earth textbooks had called it? A magnetism, that drew them together, wove around them like the flutter of tiny Tamaranian prek'a sprites floating on the wind.
The rooftop was always their place to go when they needed some time together, away from the others.
He'd comforted her about her sister's frame-up here. Told her she belonged there and that she mattered to him. Smiled at her in a way that made her heart stutter.
She'd found him here for several mornings straight after they'd rescued him from Slade, staring out at the horizon and waiting for the light to creep across the sea and drive away the shadows that haunted his mind. She'd sat down next him and offered her silent reassurance, and watched the tension between his shoulders slowly ease away.
She'd asked him for another dance up here, a repeat of the one they'd had at prom, and he had happily extended his hand, with the private confession that she'd made him feel protected and safe through the whole ordeal, that he was glad she'd had his back when he was up against Kitten and her whiny, selfish demands and ugly threats.
He'd blushed and babbled a lot of nonsense when she'd told him how happy she was that he'd stopped her wedding. That no one had ever cared so much about her happiness and feelings that way, that she had always been taught to sublimate her own wants and desires for the sake of her duty as princess and how she'd never realized how unbalanced a weight that was. She'd confessed to him that she would always love her people and always try to do right by them whatever that demanded of her, but now she could not see a future living there. That when she'd told the crowd that her heart and life belonged on Earth it was the absolute truth. She had begun to think of Earth as far more her home than Tamaran.
(He had made some kind of adorable quip then, something about it being his favorite planet too, something cute that recalled a comment he'd made when they were on the ferris wheel together, watching the fireworks.)
She'd watched him throw rocks towards the sea down below with agitation, as he vented his frustrations about Cyborg deciding to quit the team to lead Titans East, and only occasionally offered a sympathetic comment as he worked out his complicated feelings about it. How he felt like he'd been exposed as some kind of control freak and how uncomfortably that reminded him of his own reasons for leaving his mentor and striking out on his own.
They had found their way here after the whole mishap on that deserted planet, after the dust had settled and everyone was back home safe, stood shy and awkward at first before relaxing, sitting comfortably together with their feet dangling and their shoulders leaned against each other's, more intimately affectionate than they would normally be, and feeling like nothing needed to be said about it. He was bold enough to snake a hand around her waist. She let her head rest against his cheek. They were together. Maybe not together together, not in the way she had assumed they were and wanted them to be, but it was okay. They were okay.
She was surprised he hadn't found his way up here yet today. The sun was slanting orange across a horizon that grew bluer and bluer and the salt-air breeze off the ocean lifted her hair into her face in thin strands.
She brushed them out of her face, inhaling deeply, relieved deep in her bones. The crashing blue ocean and clear sky was a lovely, welcome sight, the distant sound of the waves and the wafting of the breeze made for a peaceful tranquility that settled into every limb of her body.
She closed her eyes and enjoyed the silence, she didn't know for how long, just relishing being alive with the city whole and safe.
The door clacked behind her and she smiled.
She opened her eyes, turning her head to see Robin carefully shutting the roof door behind him.
"Sorry," he said, with an apologetic grin. "I overslept."
"Really? That is not like you," she said, slight tease in her voice.
He stepped over to join her, shaking his head. "I guess I just hadn't had time for a good night's sleep in a while. With everything going on..."
He trailed off, but nothing more needed to be said. Their fight to save Raven and banish Trigon from their world was finally over, after months of stress and planning and preparing for the worst.
Robin cleared his throat as he reached her. "How's the view?" he quipped.
"Beautiful," she told him. Her eyes shimmered a little as she looked out over the bay. "I am truly grateful that we prevailed." She glanced aside at him. "How is Raven doing?"
He closed his eyes briefly as he seemed to search something unseen. After a moment he opened his eyes and looked back up. "I think she's still asleep. I'm not really getting anything off her."
Starfire hummed and crossed her arms. She still wasn't quite sure how she felt about his mind bond with the empath. Apparently it didn't flow very strongly both ways, while Raven picked up nearly everything from Robin—something she had complained about loudly to both of them, before Robin very deliberately worked with Raven to build up better mental shields—Robin could usually only get vague impressions off Raven, pick up on her moods a little better. Starfire had wondered if she should be concerned about how close he and Raven were getting, but many things that year had reassured her that the Boy Wonder's affections were still firmly with her.
That reassurance only strengthened when Robin reached very casually across the space between them for her hand, giving it a little squeeze.
"Hey," he said. "Thanks for not giving up, and for keeping the guys safe."
She nodded. "And thank you for bringing Raven back to us," she told him in return.
He dropped her hand, but just stepped a little closer, growing quiet. A distance entered his eyes, his mouth flattening to a little frown.
She didn't need a mind bond to guess his thoughts. "You are thinking about how Slade has most likely returned to the living?"
A tired sigh confirmed her suspicions. "I wish I could say I wasn't worried. But... the truth is I never quite stopped being afraid he'd come back," he confessed quietly, his expression going gaunt, already clearly thinking back to the night the trap Slade had left behind in his mask had nearly killed him. "I know we can take him again if we have to I just..." One hand tangled in the black strands of his hair. "...was really hoping never to have to see him again after we parted ways down in the catacombs."
A sympathetic hand found his shoulder and Starfire squeezed firmly.
"It may yet be that he will keep his distance," she offered softly.
"Doubt it," Robin sniffed. "We definitely didn't come to any kind of mutual understanding down there. All he wanted was his own selfish goals, like usual." He looked away with a heavy sigh. "I just don't want to become that worst part of myself again. I don't want to fall back into that obsession, that darkness."
"You will not," she assured him. She easily turned him to face her, and put her other hand on his opposite shoulder with a smile. "You have us. You have me. I will not let you drown in yourself again," she promised.
His face turned up to hers, gratefully.
"Thank you," he whispered thinly.
He stepped forward into her arms and she hugged him softly. It was the most natural thing in the world, to comfort him, to be with him like this.
She still didn't know when or if they would be "together", officially. When the last walls would come down and he would ask her to be his girlfriend instead of his "friend who is a girl", when they would be dating for real and not because they were testing the line between best friends and lovers.
But as long as they had these little moments in-between the chaos, she could be content.

Give me all the offscreen interactions with them forever.
when i catch you jennifer iacopelli
adrianna and brayden are so fucking buzzy and YOU KNOW IT
I just finished Finding Her Edge and I have only one question:
Why on earth would Adriana choose Freddie when Brayden was right there?!?!
I havent been ragebaited this hard by a series since goddamn supernatural. WHAT DO YOU MEAN she doesn’t end up with the guy who looks at her with literal heart eyes, who isn’t afraid of telling her he wants her and wants to fight for her, who she has INSANE chemistry with, and instead chooses the bland, boring ass guy who gets upset that she was doing the best for her career because it hurt his feelings a bit, and who she has ZERO CHEMISTRY OR DEVELOPMENT WITH. GOD
yeah so that sucked. she smashed his heart and then smashed mine and then the show ended. if they don't get renewed and get that endgame i am going to haunt netflix forever. all that character and relationship development FOR WHAT?
"I know I am not the easiest guy to get along with. But I will try every day for you"
HOW IS HE NOT THE ONE SHE CHOOSES
stayed up till nearly 4am binge watching ‘finding her edge’ only to be absolutely ragebaited WHAT WAS THAT LAST EPISODE
Do you think they'll bring you flowers after you're gone? 🥀
Just a silly sketch jeje ‘cause we recently got some rose bushes and ever since I've really wanted to draw Lewis with a bunch of roses ❤️
Jealos, Jealos, jealos lovee.😍😍
I HAVE FOUND. THE MOST AMAZING WEBSITE.
it’s called braceletbook.com and it appears to be a resource for like…friendship bracelets? And making cool patterns for them? Which is super cool and I do want to try it. But all of these patterns absolutely work as cross stitch patterns
Like. Look at this!
Again it’s geared towards bracelets so they tend to be long and skinny, which is the only major limitation. But you can search and filter by number of colors, I’m making myself a frog bookmark.
anyway I thought you and your followers might enjoy!
Thank you for spoiling me with this! I'm going to lose some time here for sure!

Overlock Stitch by @clothes_reetzy
Damn, that's useful
Finally a hand sewing tutorial on a hemline that isn't just the ladder stitch! the ladder stitch disappears when you tighten it, but it's not meant for hemlines because it breaks really easily! The overlock stitch is more stable, so it holds much longer, and it won't pucker or warp the fabric!
