At first, I assumed that Grace had packed his own bag.
But when we see the flashback, it makes it clear he didnt. So who did?
Was Carl looking at different t-shirts, wondering which one Grace would prefer? Did Stratt send a letter to the school explaining where their teacher was going, and asking for pictures? Did she explain that he wasnt coming back?
Did they go to Graces house for personal effects? Did they wonder what he would want up there, be it books or movies, or photos or alcohol?
Did they consider how little they knew the man they were preparing for death? Did they realise there were comforts they couldnt provide, since they didnt know what Grace would want?
very funny part of project hail mary is the fact that in those last nine days before launch every single mission patch on all the jumpsuits had to be remade and replaced with grace's name instead of dubois. like oh shit our science specialists just exploded. we have so much to do. and among those things is the fastest patch making anyone's ever scene.
Yeah, I’m also amazed by the amount of different outfits they sent him with. It’s not like Grace had time to pack. So all the goofy science shirts and knit cardigans and flight suits were packed for him by someone else in a hurry.
