That time of year is back again. Some dogs don't handle the 4th well and many do all they can to get out of their yard or hide while being super stressed in the house. Hopefully this year, although last minute, you will do what you can over the next few days so you can enjoy the holiday while no longer worrying if your dog got out, is chewing up your house or is hiding and overly stressed out without you knowing. I was diagnosed with Juvenile rheumatoid poly. arthritis when I was 13. Luckily for me after a few years it went into remission for a while. Now 16 years later (don't do the math LoL) I have a hard time getting out of bed because my legs are stiff and sore or I drop almost everything I try to carry. Some days I feel fairly normal and those days rock but normally it makes doing even easy little things super hard. Not having help when needed is a total bummer too. It seems so far in the past that my symptoms weren't noticeable. I lived an ordinary life. I went to work, spent time with friends and family and did the things that I wanted to do, when I wanted to do them and where I wanted to. I still love myself and have no regrets. I don't feel like my life was stolen from me. It's more along the lines of life being more adventurous. Well, if figuring out how to go shopping without having to sit down, feeling awkward for asking for help to my car and then hoping someone is home to help me carry things inside. . .
