Hi! I'm a trans woman who is ready to take another big step in her transition by starting electrolysis.
I’m raising funds to help pay for electrolysis!
If you don’t know me, I’m a trans woman of color writer and editor focused on creating trans stories and making space for our work to thrive. I’ve written my own books, based on my experiences as a queer Mexican trans woman and I co-edited a recent anthology of fiction by trans women of color. I also helped edit a poetry book that Venus Selenite just published, and I’ve been editing essays by Devan Diaz that you might have read on Autostraddle and Nylon. And I’ve got a few more projects that I’m trying to get started this summer, like a volume 1 of a poetry zine by trans women of color and a print magazine of art/fashion by #girlslikeus.
Anyway, like a lot of other trans women, I’ve had trouble finding safe, steady work while transitioning and getting my documents legally updated. So I’m asking for everyone’s help now to pay for electrolysis. Anything you can donate will mean a lot to me, even if it’s just a dollar. If you can’t donate now, please reblog this post. Thanks!
Ramon Hernandez : Suddenly I find myself smiling with some great news. My friend @thats_angel90 was shot not once, not twice, not three times, not four times, not five times but six times. The good news is he is on the road to recovery. His infectious smile and jokes kept everyone in the room laughing. Thank you for letting me feed you empanadas and proving to the world that #lovewins #gonnameetthepresidentpantsless #gangsta #shot6times #3timesless than @50cent — with Angel Colon
Read about each victim of the Orlando Pulse shooting here. Remember their names, their faces, and their stories.
As some of you may know, I abruptly lost my job in mid-January. After losing my job, I decided to take some time off to heal and take care of my mental health. I had enough savings to last me from then until about a month ago. Since then, I've been struggling to may my rent/bills and have done...
i can sit here and talk about how hard the city/state makes it out to be for poor people to get what they need (i.e. food stamps, pubic assistance, etc.).
i can sit here and talk about how i’ve been selling my ass on and off for the past 5 months to get food in my stomach and to make sure bills are paid.
i can sit here and talk about how i’m able to take a trip to puerto rico next month and still not have money for rent.
i can sit here and go into detail about what i’ve been struggling with and how i’ve been managing. but here’s the thing - i shouldn’t have to.
i shouldn’t have to go into detail about doing sex work or taking my first vacation ever to spread my abuela’s ashes or how i was able to afford *insert nice thing* for myself. poor people are allowed to have nice things and still need support. poor people are still allowed to treat themselves and still need support.
understand that i don’t create this fundraisers because it makes me feel good. i do it because i actually need help in order to survive. i’m asking for support and help because i need it despite my pride.
you don’t need to agree with it or support it, but i don’t need to feel ashamed bc i am asking for what i need and some folks can’t understand what being poor actually looks like on a day to day basis.
with all of that being said, i’m still struggling even WITH public assistance and i can easily be dealing with fighting an eviction case if i’m not able to make my rent. i’m still on the hunt for a full-time trabajo, but in the meantime if you have some coins to spare, please help out!
PLEASE share this post.
much love. <3
UPDATE: Raised $60 so far.
My phone shut off and the only way for me to have it on was to make a payment arrangement (I don’t have any money to actually pay).
Please donate if you can. Please reblog.
BOOSTING FOR MY AMAZING FRIEND WHO LITERALLY TRIES SO HARD. I know how it feels to be down on your luck for an extended period of time and all too well about resorting to dangerous survival tactics. Please boost or help if you can ❤️❤️❤️
Tw: rape mention
I’ve been two seconds from getting evicted for the past couple of months. I’m literally dreading doing cam work because it’s risky and triggering and last time I had to work I got threatened with being raped (first time sharing this which is giving me anxiety).
I am begging. If you got anything to spare it would mean the world tbh.
If you don’t feel comfortable just donating, you can buy one of my prints here: flwrwrk.com/shop.
Thanks again everyone. ❤️
every day i’m worried about getting evicted.
i appreciate the support i’ve gotten so far.
please donate if you can. i really need the help.

“Chopping off my hair was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It was one of those things that sat in the back of my mind for a very long time. When the hair hit the ground, I felt completely different. New identity, new me. The shorter it gets the more confidence I have. It’s a weird process. Really, really weird.”
Planned Parenthood Is Helping Transgender Patients Access Hormone Therapy
Across much of the country, it can be difficult to find doctors who are willing to prescribe the drugs required for hormone replacement therapy, and medical practitioners who choose not to prescribe hormones to these patients may be ignorant or insensitive to patients who come in to request them. Fortunately, a large national organization with a name most people are already familiar with has stepped up to bridge the gap in access to treatment for transgender patients. Planned Parenthood affiliates are increasingly offering HRT as one of the many vital health care services they offer to underserved communities.
And here’s a link to those Planned Parenthoods that offer HRT.
