Didn’t I say HBO is still hesitant? And now we hear Kit talking about “Because in development, you look at every angle, and you see whether it's worth it.” I’m telling y’all. The Dreadful happening now can’t just be coincidence. I obviously think Kit and Soph want to work together but the timing is sus especially since GoT hasn’t been gone for too long…. Them not being able to agree on a storyline is bc (imo) HBO doesn’t see the value in adapting a show about Jon coming to terms with his identity/marry (Sansa obviously. Who else?) and have kids of his own. Which… I mean ok maybe it’s not that plot heavy if you don’t add dragons and zombies but we were truly robbed of seeing the Starks deal with his parentage news.

No matter how much Targ stans want to ignore it/insult both Sophie and Kit, a project with 2 Stark protagonists (and two that had a whole fandom shipping them too!) *is* going to pique people’s interest.

Anyway. Really hope we get good AU Jonsa material (atp I honestly couldn’t care less if the movie is trash this movie is for us and us ONLY 😂).

Is this a safe place to vent about k*stl*? 🤢Can someone explain to me why was Karen literally stolen from HER OWN show where she was a co-lead, and was given as a love interest (but not really cuz there is no canon ending for them SO WHAT'S THE POINT EVEN) to a horrible man as a substitute for his dead wife like???????? This is still so insane to me

hiii ! i mean yes technically you can vent about anything on here but i’m not sure i will posting it all (ans not bc i don’t share your frustration but bc i don’t want to give toxic people more attention than they deserve in my inbox 😅)

if you’re talking about her first appearance on TP s1 then it’s bc it came right after s2 of OG show + D*fenders (a mess of a show that deserves to be ignored forever but that’s not the point lol). Since his storyline was heavily involved with Karen in og show they thought since there’s already history here we can expand on that! And it was the perfect time to do so bc Matt was supposedly “dead” in that time period + with Matt being given the El*ktra plotline they decided to give Karen her own dark mirror ship (which btw is the whole point of s2 for people who didn’t get that).

I admit that when i first watched that show i was happy karen was given another love interest of her own. It’s only in retrospect that I realized that narrative wise the “intensity” came a bit out of nowhere + Karen wasn’t given the best opportunity to shine as a character (was used as a typical love interest to boost the “hero’s” narrative + to make him more sympathetic to a female audience). But still overall i liked the idea that she was given another love interest of her own even if it was a messy bond that relied a LOT on some kind of projection (karen with matt —> an emotionally unavailable man who’s ALIVE and who SEEMINGLY doesn’t lie (ironic when considering the diner scene) + frank with maria —> projecting the intensity he feels towards her onto karen which is somewhat confirmed in this recent special with karen wearing the same clothes as maria in his hallucination). So yeah i liked the tragic aspect of it all and the messiness UNTIL TP s2 came along and the fan service got out of hand. That hospital scene pmo to THIS day you have NO idea. Because it literally ignores everything about karen in her own show to make space for an angsty scene where karen is reduced to a cheerleader yet AGAIN for his man pain and going as far as making her ooc to achieve that goal.

NOW when it comes to Born Again: yes. The idea that Karen is still pining for a situationship she had 10 years ago is quite laughable. But the showrunner was a P*nisher producer and writer so I guess he’s gotta rep his boy somehow 🙄 the point is to keep fans talking. That’s literally it. Daredevil was cancelled mid story and those side ships were still not given proper resolution (as well as Matt and Karen’s story didn’t have the time to slow burn like it should). So now we’re stuck with these storylines just bc people are stuck in 2017 forever and barely want to acknowledge s3 as canon. #they had to actually take the time and watch it once the fandom started praising it (as it should) but i’ve been around too long now to understand that if it wasn’t for that (and dario’s clear love of the season) they would have gladly ignored it bc it didn’t go according to THEIR vision of who matt or even karen are as characters.

sooo yeah. hang in there anon ! dd fandom has always been extremely toxic so i suggest you mute certain key words if you don’t want to be angry at all times on the internet 🫶🏼

I completely agree with your analysis of this show and here we have an explanation of why karedevil is the way it is 🫩 it's just gonna get worse

eh. this man is a joke. and still using #that other ship as bait when it makes narratively no sense anymore to do so. (J*n is also on Broadway until mid July I doubt he is gonna be present for more than one episode in S3 if he is even there).

We saw how he kept hyping up this so-called triangle and all we got was a few name drops this season. It is not to say that I trust him btw. I think I already talked about how ultimately I don't trust him for the job BUT using logic and past behavior... this man is a troll. He does everything in his power to hype up his show/writing in the most baity way possible.

PS: it's both btw. matt and karen love eo and love the drama. they're adrenaline junkies. they will forever be thrilled by the push and pull ("it's going to be hard" "we're really messsed up" "still like to take a shot at it") i'm not worried
