Zachary couldnât say that he was having the best of days and he couldnât really remember when he got a proper night of rest. He had thought working wouldnât require so much from him after the first year, maybe after a year and half at the latest. But it appeared that for what he wanted to do, it would take a lot more than a year. Overtime was a regular occurrence, even when the firm name held his own surname. âHonestly, I already have a headache and I canât seem to find a decent cup of coffee today. So either speak slower or just donât speak at all.â He spoke to the individual beside him, who had maybe been speaking to him or to someone else. He really hadnât been paying too much attention because all he kept hearing was the white noise of constant speech.
âI donât think not speaking would help with the headache, unless--â Darcy tilted her head and looked him up and down. He didnât seem like he had a rough night, but people usually couldnât tell when she had a long night with drinking either, so that really wasnât something to go on. âAre you hungover? Because then it might help, but most likely a painkiller would still be the best solution you could go with. Or just, you know, not go to a crowded place where people talk.â
