This is Alexandrite, it’s also called “emerald by day, ruby by night”

It changes colour based on whether the light source is from the sun or from a candle.

It does this because Alexandrite strongly absorbs yellow light due to chromium ions in its crystal structure, leaving the other colours behind. Light from the Sun emits all colours, but it peaks in the green, and our eyes are most sensitive to green, so in Sunlight Alexandrite is green.

Incandescent lights are things like candles and filament light bulbs. They also emit all colours of light, but they peak far, far into the red, so there’s not nearly as much green or blue, so under those, Alexandrite is red. 

Gemstones are awesome.

darkcyder  Yep! It’s Hasegawa’s birthday today! Ahhhhh, bro! It’s your second birthday with the fam! 

Brother, I came to visit you recently and felt… very concerned. 

That is a dog house, isn’t it? That’s not good at all. Where would the dog sleep? I can’t just ignore this so we’re going home shopping. Come come. 

1.) Cardboard house. 

You like cardboard houses right? Look, it has a door, windows and a chimney! Isn’t it cute? Don’t worry there are more to look at. Next one!

2.) As the king of the Madao, you deserve a cardboard castle, correct? 

Mmm but it does look a bit juvenile. Perhaps this isn’t a very good choice. 

3.) Look! A cardboard city! Doesn’t it look very nice and sophisticated? It’s well made. Ah, but it is kinda small. I don’t know how easily you could fit in one of those. Hm…

4.) I got Gintoki to help me find a place! He said that it looked pretty nice but he felt pretty weak for the rest of the day, I wonder why? It looks pretty nice and cozy at the inn. He told he he’d never go back there ever again. Rude man. You can see it in her eyes that she’s a nice ghost. 

5.) Just in case nice ghosts aren’t your thing, I went and found a wonderful place for nearly free! The only catch is that the spirits that reside in it are pretty mean, but that’s nothing compared to the cruelty of reality, right bro? You got this.
