A while back my pharmacist saw my deadname on my profile and accidentially called it out, he corrected and deleted my deadname from the system so only my preferred name shows up now. There was a crowd of people behind me, so as he hands over the pills he apologized, in equal tone and volume as when he called my deadname and lied saying it's been a long day and he didn't mean to call out -his own- name. I quietly told him it was fine and he didn't need to do that for my sake.
His response: "No, it's my name now."
I went to the pharmacist yesterday, his nametag is my deadname. He informed me he's immigrating and in the process he's changed his first name to my deadname to have an English sounding name. That's why he's now able to get a reprint of his nametag to be my deadname. And repeated, with the intense seriousness of someone who is going to die on this hill: "It's mine now. Not yours. I'm taking." His tone indicated that decision is final.
Bro literally deadnamed me once, and has committed to flat out stealing my deadname. It's his now. Legally. Officially. I over heard his co-workers call him by the name.
Who was going to tell me about BloodyMary
Ah. Help. I feel the BloodyMary ship rot slowly creeping into my brain. For anyone unaware, this is Grace from Project Hail Mary shipped with Convict Simon from Iron Lung (yes, the Markiplier movie).
Guys, my tastes are basic, I always, always like the most obvious ship. I have never been a purveyor of rare pairs - let alone a CROSSOVER SHIP?? This is romance on a fictional scale that I have previously never even considered.
Mind you, I have not seen either of these films. I've read PHM, and I watched Markiplier play Iron Lung on YouTube in like 2024. That, apparently, it enough. I understand the plots, I have seen screenshots of these men being hot in the movies, and that is sufficient fuel.
Because it's so good. It's so good! Two (hot) men, both trapped and abandoned in spaceships, condemned to certain death by their own species, resigned to a lonely end to a lonely life. Then, suddenly - an unexpected meeting in the stars, a final chance for love and beautiful companionship instead of the inevitable crushing loneliness.
Also, it reallyyyy ticks off the boxes for great ship dynamics. Tall, geeky, blond, golden retriever middle school teacher with his short, buff, ex-convict feral cat of a boyfriend? Fuck yes.
The brain rot. It's making its way in. It's settling and growing roots. It's compelling me to write fan fiction. Send help.
