Duck Fritz has been my source of happiness this week.

(Yes I’ve made a trip to North Germany(?) which was super fun and educational… and I’ve drawn on several photos taken at Charlottenburg and Rheinsberg.)

And I’ve read (most of)the memoir of De Catt(Fritz’s reader since 1758), who I imagine to even look like Katte in a certain way…

Page 6 roughly translates to: “my dear count, you see that’s the reason I had never worn a red cape for the past twenty years: the color summons ghost.” (But I don’t think Fritz would actually believe in ghosts)

P7: “M. Catt, what did you think of my performance, when we first met?”

“You were… half, successful, y.m.”

[Three years ago, the King was going incognito in Holland] “which gentleman am I talking to?”

“Nobody: I’m only the first musician of King of Poland.”
