“No, I was talking to any one of the other dozen people here,” Nyla replied, voice dripping with sarcasm as she gestured around to the empty room, “Yes, I was talking to you. Can you give me your opinion on something? I wouldn’t usually ask, but apparently I need a multitude of opinions on this one.”

Picking up the sarcasm in the other’s voice almost instantly, Deshi’s body automatically tensed, and he controlled the urge to argue back. Instead, he nods respectfully, mumbling an almost half hearted apology under his breath. “Okay, shoot,” He says. “I am totally giving you my undivided attention. What do you need an opinion on?”

“No, I’m actually insane. This conveniently placed plant here is my friend and I was talking to them.” he sighed, holding the notebook in front of the other male. “That was a lame attempt of a joke, anyways you dropped this thing and for the last five minutes I’ve been trying to tell you.”

“A plant as a friend? That would be really -- well, interesting. Conversation must be really boring. Don't worry though, my attempts at jokes are probably ten times worse, so I'm in no place to judge.” Deshi grins at the other, before glancing down at the notebook being offered to him. “But, uh.. That’s not mine though? Where’d you get it?”
