I am afraid I have very little sympathy for anyone who enters into business arrangements involving James Bond, and then expresses surprise when matters become complicated.

It is rather shocking to me that it has been eight years since I first started this story. Eight years! Wow.

I'm still not entirely sure why I stopped writing it, nor am I entirely certain why I picked it up again. But I have, and though not complete, it is certainly much further along than once it was.

These are two characters who I feel are immensely suited to a romance, provided you take out the minor complicating factor that one of them is canonically dead.

007 Fest 2026: Intro Post

Fireproof raincoats, avalanche-proof ski suits, ties with concealed cameras and good old fashioned dinner jackets...if there's one thing Britain's spies don't compromise on, it's style. Even the weaponised dinner jackets must fit impeccably.

Hello. I'm MI6's not-so-occasional tailor. No, I don't have a name, on account of not wanting my lovely shopfront blown up by whatever megalomaniac is menacing the country this month.

Originally commissioned in a freelance capacity by Q Branch, I now work from Q's labs twice a week, making experimental, deadly materials look like they belong on the cover of GQ or Elle. Unfortunately, I spend half of that time avoiding agents who think I'm employed for the sole purpose of catering to their sartorial whims; a hem here on a pair of jeans, a button there on an old coat. Q assures me this is just what they're like. He has it worse, I suppose. All they want from me is a quick fix; they steal whole cars from him.

One thing I love about working from MI6 is the opportunity to sneak into the archives. There's some fascinating fashion down there, from a vintage bikini belonging to a shell diver to a lethal bowler hat. I've been keeping a diary. If you're very nice to me, and don't ask me to take in your trousers for free in my lunch break, I might even share a few tidbits with you.

Without Being Told

The disaster made of Westminster Bridge and dismantling the remnants of Nine Eyes were only the beginning of the mess that needed to be cleaned up after James Bond walked away from everything hand-in-hand with Madeleine Swann. Sooner or later, something was going to break. No one expected it to be The Quartermaster.

This is one of my favourite fics! And this is one of my favourite scenes in my favourite fic! So here, a little gift to @boffin1710 and @dassandre-00qpidsarrow

After everything falls apart, Alec and Ellory, better known as the Quartermaster of MI6, find themselves living in a small town in Colorado. Where Alec discovers all the things he didn't know about Ellory. That he loves gardening. And loathes being dressed.

As a native of Colorado, Alec and Ellory's mountain town home felt really special to me. I fell in love with the idea of Ellory's garden, which here is shown with things my pa grew in our garden growing up. I looked back to landscape lino prints I did of my homestate as I was imagining this. Buuuut I also spent a ridiculous amount of time sourcing images of Ben Whishaw nekkid to get the poses right.
