"I can't find the stairs?" Artie squeaked from somewhere close behind me. He was a darker shape than the shadows and I grabbed for his arm. His hand was sweaty, but it was solid. He reeled himself in along my arm until I was hugging him. "Not feeling really great right now, Nathan." He murmured. I don't know if I would've heard him if he hadn't been so close to my ear because there was also a weird pressure starting. It was like having your head under water — all the sounds coming through distorted as well as that kind of pressure that makes it hard to breathe and blink. "Really not coping," he said and then dropped like a rock, taking me down with him.

I’ve been doing this every night since I was a kid but it’s always whump scenarios and instead of me as the main character, it’s the fictional man I love being violated, bleeding out and on the verge of death before his archenemy comes and rescues him. and the recovery road is just as ugly.
