The DVDs of our Dating in L.A. and Other Urban Myths web series pilot presentation were just delivered and will be mailed out to our fantastic IndieGoGo backers first thing next week!

In addition to the full pilot presentation, this DVD is chock full of extra goodies from the web series, such as a behind-the-scenes featurette featuring cast and crew interviews, a gag reel, and the full versions of the speed dates.

Patricia Steffy Will Host Showcase for Debut Book “My Letter To Fear” in L.A. in September 2014

-- The special one-afternoon only engagement will feature readings from her essay collection--

Los Angeles, CA – August 19 2014 – Writer/Producer Patricia Steffy (Dating in L.A. and Other Urban Myths) published her first book—a collection of essays inspired by her own experiences, as well as experiences of a variety of women she interviewed—and that book will now be turned into a special showcase engagement on Saturday, September 20 2014 at the MACHA Theatre in West Hollywood, California.

“My Letter to Fear: Essays on Life, Love, and the Search for Prince Charming”examines the topics women obsess over—including aging; confidence; relationships; body image; beauty myths and practices; and since we’re in Los Angeles, celebrity. Designed to spotlight the writer and her work, this special showcase event will feature readings of key pieces from the book.

“I was at a point of serious reassessment in my life when I first started writing “My Letter to Fear.” I had just quit my job of nearly 17 years, and for the first time in a very long time I was asking myself what I really wanted to do with my life. Part of the process involved taking a look at the differences between the expectations I had for my life when I was a teenager versus what my adult reality was, and I realized that a lot of people I knew were going through something similar. I think that is what will make this showcase resonate—especially here in Los Angeles where so many are in a constant state of reassessment or rebranding,” Steffy said.

Looks like someone made it out of Rosewood! 

Our own Lesley Fera (also Pretty Little Liars star) was taking a turn on CBS and Kevin Williamson's new specialized crime drama, Stalker this month. The show stars Maggie Q and Dylan McDermott as elite members of the TMU division of the LAPD, investigating all kinds of stalking cases. Will Lesley be a stalker or a stalkee!? You'll have to tune in to find out! The show premieres on October 1 2014. We'll share more about her episode when we can.

The secret is out! On the season finale of Parks and Recreation, Pawnee has the most kick-ass concert they’ve delivered thus far. In the name of unity, Letters to Cleo’s Kay Hanley, The Decemberists, Ginuwine, and Andy Dwyer himself all take the stage. As you can see, Ben Wyatt is a big fan of at least one of those. And isn’t it about time the show paid off that Ginuwine joke!?

The episode entitled “Moving Up” airs on NBC on April 24th at the special time of 8 p.m.

Leslie (Amy Poehler), Ben (Adam Scott), and Andy (Chris Pratt) head to San Francisco for a National Parks Conference. Tom (Aziz Ansari) opens his restaurant, Ron (Nick Offerman) has another run-in with his ex-wife Tammy 2 (Special Guest Megan Mullally), Andy lives a rock and roll fantasy, and Leslie makes a huge decision about her future. Ben also has fun with board games.

In this week's  “What’s the Dating in L.A… cast up to now?” we are checking in with Kristoffer Polaha.

Prior to coming aboard our pilot presentation last summer, Polaha had shot a dramatic pilot from Bones' Hart Hanson entitled Backstrom. Though the pilot didn't get picked up initially, it did ultimately find a home, and Polaha has just headed back up to the Couve (Vancouver, B.C.) to begin filming the first season.
