Anyway, sorry for the depressing Wyle lore. I have so many issues with that man which unfortunately led to learning horrible things.
Horrible things can happen to horrible people and his shittiness now doesn't excuse other peoples shittiness then. Thank you for sharing and for not brushing off the atrocious things that happened to him just because he's him.
Noah Wyle has mentioned being assaulted by Sanford Meisner on ER in a couple interviews, including recent ones, I think searching Meisner and Wyle's names on this website will get you faster citations on that, and in a 1996 interview with Details magazine, mentioned losing his virginity to an older woman when he was thirteen which he described as 'terrifying' and which made him 'never want to [have sex] again'. Scans of that interview were posted by Starcomct on tumblr also. He mentioned it in other interviews at the time (because asking how he lost his v-card was apparently a common question in interviews at the time?) but he doesn't seem to have brought it up at all in like twenty years. Even in those older interviews, he was reluctant to discuss it and often asked interviewers to change the subject, but it got treated like a funny anecdote for some reason.
Honestly, fuck Meisner, I hope he's rotting in hell. And fuck Details magazine for asking that, what the fuck???????

i don’t have a link to the article on hand rn (i can try to find it later if you’re curious) but the thing about noah wyle being an SA survivor comes from an interview/profile written about him in Details Magazine in 1996. The journalist asks him when he first had sex and he said he was 13 and the girl was 18. Idk if I agree with the other anon on whether or not it plays a role in why a lot of his on-screen romances are awkward bc at the end of the day idk him lol. but i just thought i’d lyk what they were probably referring to.
there was also an incident that happened on the set of ER during one of the early seasons (either s1 or s2?) where a guest star tried to force noah to kiss him. i do have a link to a video where he talks about it here, you can skip to the 29min mark: https://youtu.be/nid7z9fzxwg?is=rZBHpk9M40zYQHBd
Thanks for the links!
Why the fuck were we okay with just asking people how they lost their virginity? Like, who the fuck thought that that was a good idea?

Unfortunately, Wyle did mention that he used to hate filming kissing scenes or anything similar because it made him uncomfortable until he worked with an intimacy coordinator on a later project in which he played a gay man. Which is probably in no small part due to being an assault survivor himself. Full on said he used to be “afraid of women” when he was a teenager, which is all kinds of fucked. But yeah, every one of his kissing scenes is always so fucking awkward. Man has zero chemistry with most of his co-stars. I think they should have just stopped giving him love interests and moved on. He was not good at it.
I've actually never heard of him being assaulted and couldn't find anything with a Google search, I'm assuming he mentioned something about it during his ER days?
Carter is actually such an interesting character when he's not being forced to jump from one relationship to the next. At certain points, it made sense, he needs to be the hero, he has definite mommy issues, if he's not useful to someone they'll leave him, etc. But I've always thought his most interesting relationships were his friendships, like with Benton, Malucci, Jing-Mei, Mark, Luka, when he's friends with Abby, Neela, and Susan, who he did date for a short time, but that barely counts to me and them. Him struggling to see himself as a good doctor, being a sort of comedic relief into an amazing doctor, his struggles with literally every family member he has to the point I'm surprised his parents didn't adopt another child just to add more emotional distress and constipation.
I wanted to edit this episode cause I love love love the grown out bleach look and I love him in this episode but I didn’t realise how spinny this episode is lmao like it was so hard to keep him in frame😭
But I ended up loving it so I’m posting it on here and TikTok…
Why is Noah Wyle SO bad at kissing onscreen? Like, him in Falling Skies with Moon Bloodgood was pretty good, but all of his kisses in ER are so fucking dry and awkward. The only halfways decent ones are with Kem. But Susan, Abby, Claire from Modern Family, all of them are the most soulless, passionless things I've ever seen.
Would love to know who these anons stan because I'm sure their fav is a perfect angel who has never done anything wrong ever
We got characters full on breaking the law, killing people, sleeping with so many nurses they sign a petition, and paralyzing people, but yeah, one scene in a poorly written, last minute storyline completely overrides all of that and everything else Malucci did.
I would say I'd hate to see how much people would hate him if he was a woman or a POC, but we see that with Santos in The Pitt 😭
eepy and cozy
the feminism leaving your body when the dude calling a disabled woman a nazi dyke is a pretty boy lmao
The intelligence leaving your body when someone likes a fictional character.
girl i cannot take a dave malucci stan seriously calling out other characters on bigotry like come on you cannot be like this.
Okay, then don't take me seriously.
They are literally the same.
He's literally two days old, can people stop being so fucking mean to him??????
Maybe im just dumb and naive but the misogyny stuff w robby, specifically w him only yelling at women, kinda falls a little flat to me sometimes bc he primarily works with women, and the two main guys he works w he was avoiding all of season two.
Like. Idk, saying that he was specifically targeting women, when we know why he was avoiding langdon and dennis, makes me feel some type of way idk.
Conversations should be had about his unconscious misogyny, but so often its just like “oh yeah he hates women, hes always yelling at them” and that feels like a misplaced (?) argument
Then why did he offer Langdon a LOR and not Collins?
Why did he take Whitaker under his wing and ignore all of the women?
Why is he harder on Samira than anyone else?
Why is Whitaker (who he continually seeks out and praises, I don't know where you're getting that he's avoiding him, but it's definitely not the show) training the newbies and no one else?
Why did he put one teenage guys reputation and future above the lives of several girls?
Why is the first time he reaches out to Langdon solely because he wants to shame and belittle Samira?
Why was he so much more confrontational with Dana than with Caleb or Abbot?
Why are Gloria and Caleb essentially filling the same role but he was rude, condescending, and aggressive with Gloria and not with Caleb?
Literally no one is telling you to not like Robby, but if you have to twist and turn and make things up and completely ignore other things, maybe you don't actually like Robby.
