We have a nesting pair of cedar waxwings in our yard this summer, and they’re a joy.
Sister Cat takes a stroll down memory lane.
Hey there, Chapter 15 is here!
I'm pretty proud of this one. It was fun to write and voice.
The 15-year-old has gotten into visible mending lately, so my favourite old pair of jeans are back, baby.
A little less visible, but now they’ve patched the big old hole in my favourite old pair of chinos. All my all-star pants are coming back!
And now they’re weaving embroidery floss into the white threads on their ripped jeans. So good. Bonus points for listening to Avery Trufleman’s excellent Articles of Interest podcast while they worked.
With Gran and Sister cat magically frozen in place, how's Bink going to get past Daisy? Also, Dr. Gillinoy learns a hard lesson about what
Chapter 14 is out! Bink might have a bit a trouble with that old hag with the rest of the Losers frozen solid…
Writing and voicing this little homemade podcast is an absolute joy.
I’ve been playing in a weekly game of the Monster Hunter tabletop role-playing game, using the Powered by the Apocalypse system. It’s so fun. As a lifelong D&D player, the PBTA system is a really nice change.
I was sick with COVID last week, and used the time knit everyone in the group a little dice bag. It’s just a 2d6 system, so the bags are wee, but I kind of love them.
Jeff looked particularly cute this afternoon.
Mitten season, suckas
If one were looking for an indicator of my mental health, one could do worse than checking on how well I've been taking care of my cast-iron pans.
I’ve switched things up with my bedtime reading and have been devouring this wonderful non-fiction book about owls, and every morning I can’t wait for my wife to wake up so I can dazzle her with Owl Facts
I’m pretty sure by the time I finish reading this owl book I’m going to have a favourite owl and I’m pretty jazzed about it.
Also, please take the hint and drop your favourite owl facts
Little Percy has a weak foot that can’t grasp the perch, so she tends sit like a dollop of sour cream.

Cat and Gran arrive at the hag sisters' camp to save Bink from the stew pot, but are they too late?
Quick quick quick! Chapter 13 is out!
I was writing Chapter 14 this morning and having a wonderful time doing so. I’m really enjoying making this damn show.
15 degrees in November. Back door wide open for the day.

I’m four weeks into a new TTRPG session with a new group, and it’s going really well. I’ve not used the Powered by the Apocalypse system before, but it’s been really simple to learn. We’re playing Monster Hunter, set in an old amusement park. We’re the night crew. Silliness abounds. It’s a lovely way to spend a Thursday night.
Also, it’s chilly on the morning paper route these days.
