You know that idea for a fanfic that's completely crazy, but you can't get it out of your head, and on top of that, there's at least one incomplete fanfic with something similar?

Yeah…

Should i tell about the ideia here? It will take some time for the story to be post on Ao3.

I don't know how unpopular is this opinion, but i really need to get this off my chest (And no, I'm not posting this because of MAWS, I haven't even seen the trailer yet and I like comic Conner): i have problems with BOTH versions of Kon's origin in the comics

1° version: i don't know if i miss something about that, but if i was a villain and the people responsible for creating Superman's clone can't even create someone w/ at least 4% of kryptonian blood, it would have been on sight.Physically or not, it doesn't matter. As someone who's a fan of both Marvel and DC, this detail bothers me too much to like this origin story (plus I can't care about Paul, which doesn't help) .

2° version: Like almost everyone else in this fandom, I think the execution of this in the comics was terrible. Regardless of what you think about The Reign of Superman, the 2010 Young Justice animated series, and the 2018 Titans, the way Lex Luthor's role is handled in those stories is at least decent. Of all the ways the writer could have portrayed Superboy's existential crisis, he chose the worst choices/path.

The reaction of Superboy, in different media, to the revelation about who he shares DNA with:

(Yes, I know that him being a hybrid is the second version of his backstory(a retcon), not the first.And no, this isn't a competition about which version is better, don't you 🫵 start. )

Comics: He escaped from Cadmus already knowing about his relationship with Superman. He finds out about Luthor much later, when he was already living with the Kents, and has a huge crisis about it.

2010 animated series: He leaves Cadmus with help, also knowing of his connection to Superman, but is only accepted/recognized after 1 year. When he discovers he's Luthor's "son," he's still figuring himself out, so he only becomes more frustrated and confused instead of having a crisis.

Reign of Supermen movie: He never left Cadmus and practically "lived" with Lex at the beginning, which made him have a more lenient reaction to the revelation. The fact that there were other priorities (villains) at the time also helped.

Titans 2018: He also escaped on his own, but he did so so early that he barely knew anything, including who Superman and Lex were.He only discovers that he is the "son" of both of them at the same time when he is 1 day old (but he will only meet them 1 year later), and has the calmest reaction among his counterparts. Only starts having a crisis about it months later, driven by guilt/feeling of failure.

Talk about the butterfly effect.

Someone was going to tell me that, in current comics, both leather jacket!Conner and T-shirt!Conner coexist because the one with the t-shirt is actually Match?

*spoilers (?) about ultimate universe*

It's a bit late to talk about this, but I sometimes think about May Parker.More precisely, May from universe 1610, where Miles originally came from, the ultimate universe.

Anyone who's seen Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse knows that the Peter Parker from Miles' universe died, but what many don't know is that, in the comics, May had adopted Johnny (Human torch), Bobby (iceman), Gwen, and (Unofficially) Kitty (Shadowcat) way before that.

And except for Gwen, everyone ended up fleeing because (thanks to that version of Magneto and the death of Xavier and Cyclops/Scott) the mutants gradually lost their rights (and Johnny was an ally).

Imagine being May Parker and you lost your nephew, and not long after, most of the others too, because of a country that hates them.Everything you know about them now is from media coverage showing them fighting and leading one of the largest groups for mutant rights.

Imagine being May Parker and you discover that Johnny was not only captured, but when he escaped he had very clear signs of brutal torture.That even though Kitty and Bobby achieved some success, mutants can only stay in one area unless they want to lose their powers, and it could take years for you to be together again.

And all this with the Green Goblin on the loose, and even when Miles and Peter defeat him, several people she knew died because of him (Harry, Jameson, Flash).

Peter may have been brought back to her (and maybe Johnny too), but the family isn't complete.

Saying this after seeing the opinions of the rest of the fandom and not being a Lion stan (those who have seen my comments shouldn't be surprised):

Even if he remembered what really happened, he would still resent Elphaba.

Okay, I have your attention, I'll explain:

1- The basics of wildlife rehabilitation is to ALWAYS ensuring that the animal has/relearns its survival instincts; if it is a young animal, ALWAYS keep it in groups (preferably with adults).There have been cases of activists who recklessly tried to free animals from laboratory testing, and the results, unsurprisingly, were terrible.

"But the Lion is a sentient being—" EVEN WORSE!! He must have been a little older than a baby, he couldn't speak yet, and everything indicates that Elphaba or Fiyero didn't check on him.A child left alone like that, without support, won't be 100% functional; it was a miracle he reached adulthood with only psychological problems.

2-This has been said thousands of times here, but Dorothy was accidentally thrown into these lands by Morrible (because the cyclone was her doing) in the worst possible way, Glinda (certainly with Morrible's help) put the shoes on her and sent her to the Wizard and now Elphaba is into infanticide.She was the Lion's first friend, willing to help him be more than a coward even though she doesn't need it and was in a bad place, and she never wanted to hurt anyone.Is it surprising that he dislikes/stops liking the adult who is threatening her and treating his friend as if all that chaos is her fault?

I'll probably get yelled at by the fandom, especially Elphaba's fans, but this needed to be said.

(She does not misses the scarecrow the most because he is "the one who cares".It's because he, who is experiencing body horror and trauma from have been beating to death + crucifixion, is the most sane between a survivor of dictatorship + slavery + toxic relationship, also experiencing body horror and on the verge of a breakdown and a young adult with high anxiety/paranoia who has lived in isolation for most of his life (their strongest connection is their affection/love for Dorothy).And not even that stopped Boq from succumbing to a maniacal rage, if his music had been kept in the timeline of the stage version this happened because Dorothy was kidnapped, so now what was left of his morals has been thrown out the window. .)
