Spider was still coming to terms with, well everything.
He was now back to being 13 years old and still living with the McCoskers. He now only had an year to prepare for the RDA coming back and three years to make sure he doesn't die.
That however was the least of his problems right now. He watched as Max bandaged his bruised hand, and Norm paced around anxiously. He told them the truth he woke up from a night terror and panicked. They had a hard time believing the fact that this strong of a reaction was caused by a night terror, which Spider will say is fair but currently it was a pain to deal with it.
He absent mindedly munched on the cookie Norm gave to him and he waited for Max to finish what he is doing.
The first thing on his list of things to do to stop from dying was to somehow get rid of the McCosker parents. Thomas deserved better. Most of the time Mary and Nash ignored him leaving Spider to take care of him. Spider will never forgive himself for letting them take his little brother. This time he wont let them take him.
The door to the medical ward opened pulling Spider out of his thoughts. He turned his head to look at who came in only to feel his blood run cold. Not with fear but with anger. There he stood in all his glory.
Jake freaking Sully.
Of course they'd call Jake. He used to idolize him, Max and Norm must have thought I'd tell him what bothering me. Which wouldn't have happened then and what little chance there was of it happening was non-exist in the present.
Spider smiled and waved with his cookie in hand.
Jake looked and Spider and smiled, Spider was using all his will power not to jump the navi and demand if he was just a stray cat to him.
Jake then turned and walked toward Norm who wearing the floor down with his pacing. Spider began to hum absent mindedly, while listening to Jake and Norms conversation. Well trying to atleast he could only catch bits and pieces of it which confirmed his suspicions. They were talking about him.
"He was begging Jake! He was telling us not to touch his and that he doesnt know"
"Norm I know it looks bad"
"Fuck that Jake! It is bad!" Norm broadline yells making Spider jump at the sudden loud sound.
"Whoa buddy I've got you" Max rubbed his thumb over Spiders wrist. Spider just wordlessly looked down and nodded.
"You see that Jake! What happened to make the kid like this!"
Norm ran his hand down his face, Jake looked back at Spider but Spider avoided his eyes on purpose.
Eywa damn it Spider you are mentally 16 you can not be jumping and flinching every time someone raises their voice. He internally yells at him self.
Jake and Norm whet back to whispering but he heard Mary and Nash being mentioned in the conversation.
"So you're telling me they weren't the first people trying to calm him down?"
Jake asked his eyes widening and ears flattening.
"No-" Norm sighed, "I don't know, all I know is after what happened I
don't trust them with Spider "
"Norm we cant just take him-"
Norm snapped making Spider flinch again, Max looked heartbroken but Spider didn't notice he was too busy eavesdropping and mentally scolding himself.
"Jake Thomas goes to Spider for everthing never to Mary or Nash. Something is very wrong with everything! This whole thing is the breaking point for me."
Jake tried to reason with Norm but Spider wasn't listening anymore.
Norm knows something is wrong, Norm knew something was wrong with the McCosters. He always knew, but why didn't he do anything?
Spider bit the inside of his cheek to stop himself from spiralling.
It doesn't matter, It does matter. Norm knowing something is wrong is good for him. He can get rid of the McCosters far earlier if he plays his cards right. Those cards being the exact ones he hid the first time around.
Spider made himself looks as innocent as possible, pouting his lips while looking at Max then at Norm and Jake. Max smiled and finished up bandaging his hand before ruffling his hair.
Max said, Jake looked like he was about to argue but one pointed look from Norm had him clicking his mouth shut.
"I feel like going out today, mind if I join you?" Norm asked surprising Spider. Norm never asked to come with him, Spiders chest felt warm as he nodded before jumping down from the bed he was sitting on.
"Come on I don't wanna be late" Spider called behind him as he ran to get ready.
Spider had a plan, and he was going to make sure it works even if he has to bleed. Especially if he had to bleed.
