Maladaptive daydreaming is all fun and games until you get depressed realizing you can't actually live in your own head
And I can't sit through a movie, not because my attention span is chopped, but because if a scene comes on that I see maladaptive daydream potential in
the movie is getting paused and I'm circling my room with music blasting for an hour
"maladaptive daydreaming is an unhealthy coping mechanism" ok well in my world it isnt so how about that
Can't wear headphones for two weeks maybe I should just cease
I know that stress is really getting to me when huge chunks of time are gone. Not the smaller chunks that usually pass by but I can manage.
I need to not be chronically stressed for at least a few months. But that's not going to happen any time soon, or ever.
Madd really gets to me sometimes because I don't think I can ever actually stop. I daydream as soon as I wake up, while I'm getting ready for the day, while I'm eating, and then while I'm doing literally anything. It's so all-consuming it's like a false paradise.
It's so nice to disconnect from reality but it's affecting my productivity and that's not something I can afford to happen.
So what is like. The overall themes of your daydream? Mine is being a lot more cool and fun and stronger then people actually think I am and thus them respecting me and trusting me and me being able to protect them.
Or drugs and murder. Or both.

Mod reply: definitely treat this more as a blanket term if viable. We know its a lot more complicated than these categories. And I'm curious too! Some of mine are family, some are friends, but we're all part of a bigger mosaic. And the roles consist across our subcosms as well.
