- this is my main account. I occasionally post 18+ content on here, but it's main use is fandom related stuff or random shit I reblog. I've recently made a primarily nsfw sideblog : @dazzling-sapphic-butch
✨Just to make things clear for new followers, my blog is not a safe place for racists, terfs, swerfs, homophobics, bigots, ableists, trump supporters, anti-vaxxers.
✨ I'm very proudly pro-choice.
✨ I will happily block you if you are any of the above, or if you send me creepy or threatening asks, or just anything that makes me uncomfortable.
I am sorry to put this upon you. It breaks my heart to send my boys away, not knowing when I will see them again. But you have seen what may befall them here. Rhaena… I need you to be the mother to them that I cannot. Teach them, train them, guard them as a dragon guards her eggs. And my sister? I need Baela here.
since the final shot of jace was almost an exact visual match to the fanart of the battle of the gullet I say we petition to bring the actors back towards the end of the show and have rhaenyra run towards her kids in an afterlife type of shot to recreate this art and at least comfort us a LITTLE DAMN
~Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen; First of Her Name, Rightful Ruler of the Seven Kingdoms~
FINALLY FINISHED THIS WIP!!!
School and family stuff was beating my ass, so I had to put a massive pause on this one, but it's finally done T_T I just had to rep my RIGHTFUL queen Rhae-Rhae, I love her to infinity and beyond!!! I rrly do need to draw her more tho... anyways, I think I'm going to draw more asoiaf portraits and make it a little series. idk who I should draw next tho, maybe Daenerys? Or another character from the dance? I'm open to request lmao
uninstall adobe acrobat. it is malware. it has been malware. these aren't opinions: acrobat meets the definition of malware.
it installs a user-login-time "startup" executable that ignores any windows directives to disable it on startup. doing so only removes the even-more-malicious taskbar-icon-creating advertisement-notification-creating process. no matter what you do, the sleeper "updater" process starts when you log in, and runs perpetually
it sends & receives encrypted network traffic both periodically and non-periodically. both are bad, both are suspicious, and a program doing both is more suspicious than the sum of their parts. and to boot: acrobat will polymorphically edit its code after such network activity
this isn't new: it has always done this. now, it does not even do the thing it is meant to: provide a way to interact with documents, which is amongst the very first features computers were built to provide. you can merely open PDFs and read some of their content in the narrow space between the requests for adobe to give them your money, and interface for features you cannot use (because you don't) or do not, have not, and will not ever need
adobe and microsoft would very much like the user's cultural norms around computers to allow for advertisement built into the local software and even operating system itself. the web being 100% advertisements was not enough! sure enough, acrobat will hijack the windows notifications system thing to give you the 2026 equivalent of pop-ups
i don't really know enough about windows software equivalents, so i'll paypal $20 to the first person that reblogs this with a list of 3-5 PDF reader/editor/etc acrobat equivalents that meet the following criteria:
open source, locally-built executables must match checksum of prebuilt distributed executable
no paid features/premium version/subscription/whatever
not a toy hobby project thing, must be windows-users-proof
Firefox's built-in PDF.js viewer: does everything you could want from a basic viewer, fast enough search, and can now do annotations for filling in forms and such
KDE Okular: is a decent viewer and can also do basic annotations, and is so not-a-toy that you can even download it on the Windows app store.
LibreOffice Draw: I don't ever really like having to open this but if you have to edit a PDF in detail it does work, and doesn't just vomit up a bunch of polygons when you give it text to work with. Better as an authoring tool than an editor.
I've 100% replaced free acrobat with the firefox built-in and it works wonderfully for general office use and research/reading/viewing. It doesn't have robust redaction capabilities, but if you need to fill and sign and highlight a form it's actually much more intuitive than acrobat reader.
when you get crazy enough about The Character you'd think the situations you imagine them in would get more elaborate and lore intensive. but no. imagining my wizard pacing around huffily being slightly peeved at a mild inconvenience. I don’t even know what the inconvenience IS. and it's giving me enough joy to power a city for a month
sorry it’s actually so fucking crazy thinking abt how certain places have banned burqinis like literally making a woman take her clothes off in public like that shit is so fascist
Hi, gays! I spent ALL I had ($350) on my mother's eyes (after 2 surgeries she needed a 3rd, done July 10). My back and leg pain have become worse and more often. We both have chronic health issues. Living on benefits means bills keep happening thanks to emergencies and pure survival. We can't prepare for such things, as most of us disabled/financially struggling people can't save money for long.
I know lots of us struggle, so if you can't donate, please share it? Thank you regardless. More info under the cut.
My mother is 77 years old, she struggles with things "normal" for her age: high blood pressure, cholesterol, trigliceridi, anxiety, sleeping issues, back hernia, allergies and eye problems. I deal with chronic back/leg/feet pain and migraines (also chronic dermatitis, severe anxiety, depression, ocd, possible borderline, and vitamin deficiency to which I need supplements). If you follow me you know this. That being said, between both of us we take more than 10 different medications a day:
Captopril, Losartana, Hidroclorotiazida, Puran t4, Sivastantina, Melatonina, Clonazepam, Duloxetina, eye drops, allergy creams, vitamins (omega 3, vitamin D, b12 and iron), powder replacements + diapers and common painkillers
Benefits + what I gain with odd jobs makes us around $700 monthly, where $300 alone goes to rent, and we can't pay everything else (utensils, medicine, groceries) with only $400. Work is hard when I deal with daily pain and need to take care of mom. We live in Brasil, my currency is BRL (1 USD = 5 BRL / 1 € = 6 BRL).
Apparently people have bad things to say about those struggling, as if people who "e-beg" do it for fun, or as if it doesn't cause us anxiety when we know something important to us depends on the kindness that might not come. I have seen posts directed at me even. Your lack of sympathy/empathy is your problem and says more about you than about me. To anyone who has helped me (donating, sharing, starting a conversation) thank you so much. Bless you all.
Need help for mom's check-up rides (she'll have one every week for the foreseeable future!). Need to refill anxiety meds. NEED it for food since benefits won't cover all monthly groceries.
UPDATE Jul 15: $40/300
Already did next month's math and we will be left with ONLY $70 FOR GROCERIES after bills like rent and utensils are paid. Obviously, only 70 dollars won't feed us for 31 days. Not counting the still impeding needs for this month, that have not been met yet since we don't get enough donos... we will desperately need help next month. Please, if you see this and can share or donate, any amount helps.
there is a screen reader / magnification program that is the only one the low vision clinic knows of with these features and it is $650 Canadian Dollars behind specific approved vendors that require you to be geographically close to them and get government approval of a degree that I am only just now reaching after being visually impaired for going on seven years. I feel normal about this
if you can code a program that does any or all of the following:
Magnifies a display beyond standard options with keyboard / mouse movement inputs or voice commands,
Can read text on the screen,
Has different color filter options for text / background distinction,
Can change and magnify the cursor beyond standard amounts,
Works on Windows or more than just Windows,
Has a keyboard echo (says the character you've pressed on the keyboard out loud)
... there is a genuine, GENUINE need for you to code this and put it at a more accessible price point than $650 Canadian Dollars which I also just learned is a SUBSCRIPTION FEE AND NOT EVEN PERPETUAL. if you are reading this and able to code I am begging you. would genuinely change lives
