What was Visenya's relationship like with the Daeronling wives? Do you think Jena is alive by the time of Ashford or that she got dead wived like Dyanna?
I like to think Jena was alive during Ashford. We have no reason to presume she is deceased, unlike Dyanna. In truth, I personally believe Dyanna is the only wife that is deceased by then. As for Visenya's relationship with her nephew's wives (her niece-in-laws?), she gets along with them fairly well.
Jena Dondarrion - Their dynamic is a bit interesting, as Jena was initially highly intimidated of and uncertain of Visenya when they first met. Originally, before Baelor was wed, there was talks of Visenya being betrothed to him due to the Valyrian look she could pass down to their kids and the political mind she could wield as a queen consort. However, Daeron had to choose between a bride that strengthens Baelor's claim through Targaryen heritage, or an alliance match that strengthens & stabilizes his claim through appeasing the marcher lords. Hence, Jena was chosen over Visenya. Jena was nervous when she first arrived at court, fearing that Visenya would either resent or villainize her, or, perhaps even destroy her own betrothal/marriage by staying close to Baelor. It was common knowledge that they were very close, & Visenya was very influential at court, so she was bracing herself for a fight over position & her marriage. But to her surprise, Visenya was very civil, composed, and polite during their interactions, and did not seem to care very much that she hadn't been chosen. In fact, Visenya often offered Jena some support as a newcomer of court through her own strong political influence. Jena realized that Visenya's affections for Baelor were more familial, and the two women get along pretty well despite the shaky start.
Aelinor Penrose - Aelinor & Visenya get along relatively well, though I would say she is the in-law she is least closest to. They are presumably cousins or aunt & niece of some form (since Aelinor is cousin to her husband Aerys), so they are kin to each other, albeit distantly. Visenya is sympathetic to Aelinor's plight as a wife to a man who refuses to perform his marital duties, which leads to her humiliation rather than his own. Though Visenya acknowledges that it is likely uncomfortable for Aerys to perform his duty, she does empathize w/ the fact that Aelinor probably goes through a lot of shame & mockery at court due to the lack of heirs being perceived as her fault when it is simply a result of her husband's unwillingness. Visenya offers support when she thinks Aelinor might need it, though she tries not to presume or push out of respect for Aelinor's pride, the one thing Aelinor still tries to maintain in her difficult position. Aelinor does keep some distance from Visenya, not out of hate but more out of a little bit of bitterness & envy that she cannot help feeling whenever she sees Visenya's abundance of children. Visenya is aware that her own luck in motherhood is what keeps Aelinor distant, & neither condemns or faults her for her feelings. She is understanding of Aelinor's struggles, respects them, and allows her the distance she feels is necessary to maintain.
Alys Arryn - Visenya is on good terms with Alys, but similar to Aelinor, she sort of sympathizes for her. Visenya loves her nephew Rhaegel, but also understands that he has a unique condition that could make him a bit difficult handle. His condition does not make him the most supportive or reliable husband, such as Westerosi society expects of a man, and instead it's a reversal of dynamics in which Alys, the wife, must be the central pillar of support for Rhaegel, who is sensitive & fragile in both a physical & mental sense. The burden on her shoulders increases w/ the birth of her three children as well. Visenya sees Alys as a good woman, a good wife, a good mother, a good person, that is trying her absolute best to be as supportive to her family as possible while wearing the biggest smile, despite the exhaustion in her bones, hiding beneath her skin. She has an honest respect for her; the fact that she can stay so optimistic despite her own difficulties, the fact that she loves Rhaegel so earnestly despite her husband's issues and the public scrutiny & mockery it draws their way. Visenya is very supportive of her, often helping her with Rhaegel as Visenya has much experience tending to her nephew from their childhood together.
Dyanna Dayne - These two get along, and Dyanna is capable of highly amusing Visenya. Dyanna has that easy yet cutting, Dornish sense of humor that Queen Myriah has, something Visenya highly appreciates, and so Visenya is very fond of Dyanna's commentary and cutting remarks about the king's court. Lowkey these two love to gossip about people they do not like. They also bond over having difficult sons that they deeply love, especially since Daeneron & Aerion so often get into fights. They both sort of sigh and shake their heads at their son's antics, pulling them aside to chide them to get along cause their kin. It never works, but at the very least their other children get along well with each other. Dyanna's death did deeply sadden Visenya, and Visenya became a sort of maternal/adult female figure in the lives of Dyanna's younger kids to watch over them and make sure they get the softer, more maternal treatment they require since she knew Maekar struggled with parental warmth & gentle support.
