My DWTS Next Pro week 2 Rankings:

1. Allen— great dancer, choreographer, leader, teammate. No notes.

2. Adele— same as Allen, but I feel like we got to know Allen a little more.

3. Natalie— I just think she’s wonderful. Would love to see her on troupe to grow some confidence, but her standard ballroom technique/specialization would be something that really sets her apart in the show.

4. Erik— I thought he was a great partner to Natalie and could see him as a good pro. Not an abundance of personality though.

5. Stephanie— she’s always a fun dancer. Has the right skill set, she’s just never been my favorite.

6. Selena— her stage presence and performance puts her in a league of her own. Her technique also does but not in a great way. If she wants to go the Britt Stewart route and do troupe/compete on the Latin/ballroom circuit, then I’d be all for her joining, I just can’t see her stepping away from commercial dance to really specialize.

7. AJ— good dancer, unlikable person.

8. Benji— I love him and I felt for him, but this wasn’t his week. He shouldn’t have gone home though. (HORRIBLE sign of the times cover/mix it had to be said)

9. Nina- good dancer. Her choreography was bad and she was a jerk. I don’t think she’d be a good pro genuinely.

10. Tristen— he is bad at this genre of dance, so he should not be considered. Seems nice though.

Now that she is our Mini BD, I want to petition to every announcer to learn the proper way to say "Salome" thank you

I’ll take this a step further— if you are announcing a top 10 (esp at a nationals) do your due diligence and make sure every name is written and pronounced correctly. Ask around! No one should just be resigned to people saying their name wrong.

Common examples: Lucia Piedrahita (her last name is always being said differently), Lily Knopps, Salome Rivas, etc. I’m sure there are many more.

(In a perfect world, every name would be said correctly, but unfortunately there will always be mistakes in announcing during adjudication/competition as there is not time to double check.)

Extremely hot take but I don't think doing jazz/mt in the top 3/4 actually puts you at a disadvantage

Like obviously very few jazz/mt solos have won, but there are very few jazz/mt solos competing for bd to begin with so that skews the numbers

THIS!!! If jazz kids like Regan or to a lesser degree Kinley Harper choose/are advised to do their contemp solos at nationals (even if their jazz solos do better/as good throughout the season), that says a lot to me.

It might be because they or their teachers think contemporary is better received, but I think generally contemporary looks cleaner and often showcases artistry just as much as jazz.

I love seeing Natty title winners reactions when they’re announced, and I think that even the well known dancers are usually surprised and honored in the moment.

However, I love when a Luke Noss 2026 or a Bree Batstone 2025 typa surprise happens!!! Like how fun when a kid is just there to dance and is completely floored when their talent speaks for itself

I have been trying to watch Luke Noss’s improv back to feel something and the quality and camera angles are awful. That genuinely may have been the most iconic thing I have ever witnessed with my own eyes. It is up there with Finley TDA 2022 and Michael Cash Radix uptempo 2021
