Take a break from news stories already!
For those of us who are very sensitive when it comes to the news (on TV, radio, online, etc.), consider taking a break. Ask yourself how much this is contributing to your well-being. While it's important to have an idea about what is going on in the world, it is often more important for us to just get the "Reader's Digest" version rather than getting absorbed in the news. It's okay to have compassion for others who are suffering, but if you become dysregulated, this adds to the suffering of the whole. Take breaks. Watch something funny. Go for a walk. Know that it doesn't mean that you don't care. It means that you do AND you understand the importance of taking care of YOU.

Self-sabotage doesn't usually come from a place of actively choosing to be manipulative. It comes from a place of being emotionally wounded. We *can* overcome the behaviors and circumstances that have held us back. It *does* take time, effort, patience, and self-compassion. ♥ Debbie
