I first watched hetalia when im actually 12... I recommended it to all my friends, screamed with them after history classes and got highly interested in geography. I looked at the booklet abt different national flags satisfiedly and happily. And from that on i worked on improving my drawing skills to make fanarts... As well as writing skills lol. Its quite embarrassed to say but i even asked my friend whether it can be took as a way to fuck a country by digging a hole on the ground. (i cant believe i actually said so many embarrassing things like that😭)

I even prayed to Arthur Kirkland before my English tests LMAO...

They were wonderful memories. The days i had with my friends obsessed with hetalia🥲

When Alfred makes Matthew laugh, Matthew lets out a little giggle and immediately tries to cover it up with a cough because he can’t let his “totally loud annoying obnoxious brother” know that he actually finds him funny.

When Matthew makes Alfred laugh, Alfred laughs. Even if it’s not that funny of a joke, Alfred will laugh hysterically like it’s the most hilarious shit he’s ever heard. And his laughter is loud and contagious so Matthew ends up laughing as well. So they’re both just there laughing like dorks at a joke that wasn’t even that funny to begin with.

(Also I have a headcanon that when Alfred laughs really hard he leans against people and will put his head on their shoulders)

It feels like Iʼve just read my own headcanons. I think Al really starts leaning on someoneʼs shoulder when he laughs hard. Even now, I can imagine Alfred laughing, clutching his stomach with one hand, leaning on Matthewʼ shoulder with the other, and tears of laughter in his eyes.

(Although, in my opinion, he always laughs very loudly. But this is my opinion as a person who always tries to laugh quietly, because Iʼm embarrassed to attract unnecessary attention)

I agree, absolutely Alfred’s laughter is always super loud. But even more so more when he’s with Matthew. He probably does it to make Matthew feel more comfortable. He knows his brother is shy and may feel a bit uncomfortable letting lose and just cracking jokes. Also Alfred himself probably feels more comfortable around Matthew compared to being around other people—It is his brother after all.

And Alfred’s laughter probably just sounds louder when he’s with Matthew, since I can imagine Matthew’s laughter is usually just soft giggles.

When Alfie laugh so loudly, he kinda made Matthew laugh more than just giggle. I think he tries to help his brother overcome his shyness and made him shows emotions more openly.

Given the open and loud way in which Alfred shows emotion, this would be logical.

On the other hand, I donʼt think Matthew will show emotions in the same (or even simular) way. Do not forget that he is the "shadow" of America. Matyusha is modest and would not complain about his situation. And if he does, he will quickly change his mind. In addition, since childhood, he himself tried not to disturb others (even to his own detriment), because someone elseʼs comfort is a priority for him than his own.

A “complaint” is a senseless attraction of someone elseʼs attention and causing discomfort just for the sake of expressing dissatisfaction in something. And why should he do it? He does not want to disturb anyoneʼs comfort. Itʼs better just to be patient and endure.

Matthew is totally the type of person to not show his emotions as openly, in fear of making someone uncomfortable. He is a people pleaser and I can imagine him always convincing himself that he is okay with situations when he most definitely not.

He thinks in his mind “I’m just being overdramatic. If I voice my complaints I will just make things worse.”

He did this a lot while he was Arthur’s colony. “I’m okay with Arthur ignoring me. And I’m okay that Arthur is now fighting Alfred. And I’m okay that Arthur now only sees me as a replacement as Alfred. This is all okay…”

There are two versions of Hetalia - In the New World: One performed in Osaka and the other in Tokyo University.

There are also two versions of Hetalia Final Live - A World in the Universe: one performed in Osaka and the other in Makuhari.

Hetalia - The Fantastic World was very difficult to find and I have yet to see an uploaded version. The Japanese streaming site U-Next probably needs a VPN and a paid (?) account to stream said musical.

For the site bilibili, if you have trouble using it on your browser you can download the app and then try to open it from there. You can turn off the text zooming across the video by clicking on the first TV icon on the bottom of the video player.

Remember, Google translate is your friend if you can't navigate any of the sites. I don't know Japanese or Chinese so unfortunately I won't be of any help navigating some of these sites.
