today, the ravenclaw house had a reason to celebrate - they’d won against gryffindor in quidditch. as always, the captain of the team was throwing a huge party to celebrate and of course, people from all houses would attend, even gryffindors. usually caradoc would avoid the common room when the parties were being held; it was too loud for his liking, too much people, too much noise. he wasn’t a fan of big crowds, drunk teenagers and loud music. however, tonight doc would attend it. not because he’d suddenly grew to be a party animal, not at all. he needed to find his friend. yes, doc and dolohov were still friends, even if the other was keeping his distance. even if doc didn’t agree with antonin’s point of view, his cruelty and his outbursts. he’d read about nikolai dolohov’s death on the daily prophet. at last, killed by aurors. they’d tried to imprison him, but he’d killed two of them before finally meeting his end. the man deserved to die -- he was a notorious, cruel, ruthless murderer. however, one shouldn’t judge the son for his father’s sins. perhaps this is why doc refused to give up on antonin.
he walked in the common room, which was much fuller than usual. people were dancing, snogging each other, drinking like there was no tomorrow. it didn’t take long for doc to push throw the croud and find antonin, nursing a bottle of vodka. the dearborn took the seat next to his. for a few moments, he struggled to find the right words to approach him. a silent hey rolled off his lips, but that was about it. until doc’s eyes fell on athena at the other side of the room. “i reckon the two of you are still on bad terms?” the ravenclaw asked, his lips forming into a small sympathetic smile. that wouldn’t do, though. he supposed she was the least of the slytherin’s worries right now. “i’m.. i heard about your dad. i’m really sorry about what happened.“ dark hues turned towards his friend, full of sympathy. perhaps nikolai was awful, but he was still his father. doc wondered how antonin was feeling right now.
