One day when Ilya is out (and secured Canadian citizenship) he decides to launch his relationship by posting “I’m dating SH” and since he think of SH as Shane Hollander he will assume everyone will also know it’s Shane.
They do not.
They think SH = Scott Hunter
Yes, Kip and Scott are in a relationship known to the public (and secretly engaged). The shippers will ship anything.
The huntanov shippers go crazy and write essays about the obvious sexual tension and that Ilya’s chirping is just flirting.
Ilya is furious. Not only because people think he’s dating an old man but also because of what people are saying to and about Kip. Ilya talks to Kip and apologizes because it’s not fair to him since all the die hards are calling Kip “a cover” for Scott. Which doesn’t make sense for him to use a cover if he’s still going to be with a man.
As soon as Ilya realizes what is happening (took a while because Shane and Ilya were at the cottage) he immediately denies it fiercely but doesn’t elaborate on who.
A lot of huntanov shippers think he’s trying to make excuses and that he just accidently sent the tweet. Eventually Shane comes out, while saying he has been in a committed relationship, and the general public start connecting the dots when Hollanov is seen out together on dates and seemingly everywhere else. When the wedding photos come out of Hollonav and Skip close to the same time (within the same month) huntanovs are convinced it was actually a huntanov wedding.
There are some shippers who fully believe they are together no matter what happens with their respective partners and how much they deny it.
Shane and Kip thinks is it hilarious. Scott is not the biggest fan but he has learned to not listen to the general public.
Ilya is furious everytime it is mentioned.
