“I was good, i was really good”
all down darkness wide - a book review
all down darkness wide by sean hewitt | 4/5 stars
I really struggled with books this year. The last book I finished was in January, other than the couple plays I read because of school. I have been putting off this book to find the "perfect" moment to start it, and I finally picked it up to hopefully start my reading habit up again. This book was a beautiful surprise. You follow Hewitt as he recounts his journey with depression, queerness, grief, and self-acceptance. As the ghosts of his life and history follow him throughout his experience with a depressed loved one, dead father, and as a queer man. As someone who typically doesn't read memoirs, I was so surprised by how well I digested this one. Absolutely loved this. 4/5 stars. Like wow.

I lied. Put your pants back on. I’m actually going to be talking about how Neil and his want to act is actually symbolism for him being gay. And how Mr. Keating and all of his friends being so accepting of his decision and so excited to see him on stage was them being accepting of his sexuality. And how his dad being so against him becoming an actor was symbolism for him being homophobic. And how-
