☽ his anger was palpable and barely contained. . . she remains silent as he gets it out, talking to nurses and doctors and pacing the room as he makes his calls. she appreciates what he’s doing, but she wished he’d just take a seat at her side, hold her and tell her it’s not as bad as it seems. a nurse comes in, grabbing for here IV tubes and injecting some more of the pain medicine. she’s not sure he’s realized she’s woken up yet. she nods to the nurse, smiles best she can.
she doesn’t remembers much, but she remembers the pain. can feel the dressings on her stomach, the pain in her ribs was vaguely manageable with the pain medicine. . . . and they fucked up her face.
❛ please. . . can you sit? ❜ his pacing was too much, it made her nervous. a deep breath causes a wince and she lets out a little noise of discomfort. a hand lifts, fingers delicately brushing over the gauze taped over her cheek and she frowns, though the action pulls on the tape and the cut hidden beneath. ❛ you’re stressing me out with the pacing. . . ❜ hands move to grip at the rails of the bed, trying to pull herself up, but it only hurts. ❛ how long have you been here? ❜ voice is soft, words a little harder to get out as the pain medicine starts to kick in.

Choosing to ignore that response, Andrei stood in the space between the chair and the doorway. His only exit which was currently being blocked by her presence. Now it wasn’t that he couldn’t easily move her, he could, but it might be more trouble than it was worth. And the fact she brought up that she would constantly be checking on him, to be never be alone till he was healed was something he wasn’t too keen on having happen. Letting out a mumbled stream of curses in Romanian, the large assassin sat himself back down on the chair. “Let’s get this over with then.” He grumbled out, eyes narrowing a bit into a glare as he sat himself up straight so she could easily see what she was doing. He supposed this would be the time for him to remain as still as he could, not wanting to prolong the issue than it already had been.

“kat, we can’t possibly have a puppy right now, can we? even if they are adorable…” she held her phone close for the moment, as if to deter her from peeking too soon, a mischievous smirk on her face. she’d definitely try her best to raise a puppy with her though, even while adjusting to all the changes. “okay, but look at ‘em! honestly, i’m tempted to get them right now. look at those big eyes practically begging for us to adopt.” it might have been the alcohol talking, but she was far more willing to go bring a puppy into their lives right now if kat didn’t protest.

“right, purchasing it.” she buys the rental before getting it set up on the tv for them. taking the glass of wine, she takes a long drink, grateful that her friend had a good taste in wine, and had the budget to buy the good stuff compared to what phee was used to drinking on her budget. hearing the doorbell ring, she immediately got up and went to fetch the food. “perfect timing!” she grabbed all their orders before returning to the couch. “just what we need tonight. anything else i need to get before we get settled?”
☽ the smell of fried food had her stomach rumbling and she was quick to sit up, reaching forward to tug the coffee table closer to them. once it’s in place, she dashes into the kitchen for some plates before she returns, falling back into the couch. ❛ no, this is perfect, i’m fucking starving. ❜ she grabs a little bit of everything for her plate, knocking back the glass of wine before she digs into the grease.
