Pony Express, my LONG-RUNNING serial lesbian cowgirl-mailman interactive fiction project has just finished part 3 & will quickly roll on into part four in a few days.
I know I'm always saying this with glistening hope in my heart, but if you've fallen behind, if you're new here, or if you've been trying to bully a friend into reading Pony Express, now is an excellent time to get/get them onboard! A thorough summary AND the entire text of part three (and two...and one) are available on my patreon! for free! BUT I will also write the world's most micro summary here. It'll get you the very basic info if you're the kind of person who's willing to hop right in to a journey in progress:
Lou Primrose (30 years old, 5'0", illiterate, hardworking, 3x rodeo champion) is a rider for the Pony Express, the Wasteland's mail service. Lou has agreed to transport an unusual package from the middle of the Wasteland to the nearly uninhabited coast: a glamorous redhead named Holliday Bell. A case of mistaken identity sees Lou brutalized and disabled by religious assassin from the church of Johnny Knives (god of death) Reckoning "Artie" Tehachapi, who attempts to atone for her wrongdoing by serving Lou until she's healed. Together (for better or worse) head toward the ocean through unknown and dangerous territory.
POV: You're King Alistair and Queen Cousland and you just sent Anora off to be the diplomat to Orlais
I just saw your conquest on bluesky and wanted to know your intentions on why you drew it that way. Like how you explained your choices with the other 4. (I love the drawing by the way)
Conquest, as promised! For those wondering, there are only four horsemen of the apocalypse but Conquest is often replaced with War or Pestilence, so I decided to make a version of it as well.
Again, these are the reasons why I drew them the way I did.
The symbolism is for you to chose, there is no wrong answer.
CONQUEST:
-''Youāre blinded by what you're meant to represent, clutching blank-slate children to be painted in your colors. The weight of your growing flag suffocates those youāre meant to protect, yet you canāt stand without them. Your horse stays still and only gazes into the past'' - My twitter explanation
-Yes, that is thread and needle, to sew more into their growing cloak/flag. It can be mistaken as a tool of help and union. It is also a reference to the bow and arrow the original Conquest horsemen has.
-Someone asked whether the needle is a symbol of re-sowing maps, altering borders. Good eye! Hence why there's thread lines across their cloak.
-The double-headed eagle commonly represents empires. I had a specific one in mind for this.
-The horse has radiation/biohazard symbology embedded into its skull. Those horns are meant to be a threat. Someone said it represents the ultimate conquest of mankind, which is a very interesting concept
-A variation of this design has been in my drafts for over 5 years but got re-purposed as Conquest
People added a lot of beautiful interpretations for this particular drawing. Especially those who speculate why I added a child in the drawing. I love to read through them and once again, it is a big surprise that people reacted to passionately to these designs. Thank you very much!
Many are wondering what's next. The deadly sins? The heavenly virtues? Tarot? Mythological art? I always have ideas
heterosexuality is a regime that shapes the desires of all who inhabit it ā¦
you see, the top is the dominant one, the violent one, the cocky one, the man. the bottom is the submissive one, the violated, the woman. these norms supersede the charactersā aspirations, motivations, and personalities as stated in the text. the text must be ignored to some degree in order to morph the characters into subjects that adhere to how you have chosen to eroticize heterosexual power. thus, a naruto who tops is fundamentally and essentially different than a naruto who bottoms, despite what is stated in the canonical text. These are the same people who will accuse others of being ābioessentialistā in different contexts, btw. #nooticing

neve gallus really is the DA romance of all time for me and i understand why the cullen girlies are Like That now. she's a jaded cynic, she's introduced having a smoke in front of a corpse she stabbed in the back, she claims to live off fried fish when it is clearly grilled fish, she hangs out with transgender people wanted for political crimes in a basement, she's afraid of emotional intimacy, she sounds like she's going to both cry and throw up when she says 'i love you', she wears cunty little hats, she's canonically into short kings, she likes cats, and she's even bisexual

can't stop thinking about tamsyn muir's choice to present her deep, morally and politically complex science fantasy world with a central web of magic, secrets and lies reaching back ten thousand years through the eyes of three characters who:
1. tune out and start thinking about hot women whenever the magic system or worldbuilding are being explained
2. experience hallucinations on a daily basis, have brain damage and are being deceived and misled by their peers, authority figures, themselves and God
3. don't know who they are, have spent their entire life in one place and are, on all levels but physical, six months old
