Anyway, this is me ranting about how I hate right-wingers, specifically baby boomers who claim to be ~gOoD mOrAl ChRiStIaNs~
My former AP US History teacher, who pulled no punches and talked about all sorts of uncomfortable aspects of America’s ugly history during her class, posted the following image to her Facebook:
Unfortunately, my teacher has retired to a small town in rural Washington, and as a practicing Christian, attends church in the area. This means she has a friend group on Facebook that is largely made up of ancient, white, Republicans who get their news exclusively from Fox News and misreadings of the Old Testament. They also have the reading comprehension of a spoon.
The comment section on this photo my teacher posted is disgusting. All these old, bible-thumping assholes are saying these kids deserve it, that the Democrats refusing to fund the camps is the real issue, why don’t people just donate things (it’s because ICE refuses the donations, dipshit. they’re not giving supplies precisely because it’s cruel), that these people should’ve never exercised their human right to seek asylum, among many other slurs and ignorances.
Becoming increasingly fed up by the vitriol, here’s what happened when I commented:
There’s so much to unpack about Heidi being a sanctimonious piece of shit, but the use of “””illegals””” had me seeing red, so I’m not going to engage, since my response basically amounts to “I hope you choke, Heidi.” And you know what? If my millennial ass had enough room in my tiny apartment, I absolutely WOULD house immigrants and help them get in touch with friends and family here in the states or any other resources they needed to get settled!
Anyway, my only comfort from this situation is that Heidi is in her late 60s and will be dead sooner than later and, to be completely fucking honest, I hope it’s sooner.
