heyy, my name is sophia- inspired by sophie from mamma mia but my mum preferred sophia due to the grecian meaning of it- wisdom. my pronouns are she/her and im a bisexual woman. my mbti is infj and im british but have maltese, french, spanish and irish roots in my ancestry.

I adore history and english , as well as poetry- I love drawing and most forms of painting, though I’m not the best at painting- I love reading, and I draw sometimes, and a lot of my old work is on this account- they’re not the best but I still find some passion in digital art.

music taste- it varies quite a lot but at the moment i’m obsessed with: peter, paul and mary, phoebe bridgers, lizzy mcalpine, phantom of the opera, adrianne lenker, tom odell, kevin atwater, boygenius etc. some of my favourite songs are ‘headstones and landmines’, ‘no other name’, ‘prayer in open d’, ‘afraid of heights’, ‘surrender’, ‘empty of you’ , ‘the first time ever i saw your face’, ‘blowin’ in the wind, ‘soccer practice’, ‘cruel war’, ‘know you’ and ‘sidelines’. updated- now i’m also into olivia dean, betty johnson and a little bit of frank sinatra. some of my favorite songs by them are ‘man i need’, ‘a couple minutes’, ‘rein me in’, ‘baby steps’, ‘i’ve seen it’, ‘dive’, ‘let alone the one you love’, ‘i’ll wait’, ‘strangers in the night’, ‘it’s been a long, long time’, ‘does your heart beat for me’, ‘i’ll hold you in my heart’, ‘this is my love’, ‘my way’.

I loved the quiet moment where Lestat plays guitar and the lights go out in Detroit - it was so peaceful amidst the frenetic pace of the episode. But then we see Lestat suffering, admitting he is struggling, and I realized: he can’t abide the quiet moments. Those are the moments when he unravels.

And suddenly the frenetic pace makes total sense - Lestat is drowning his thoughts and memories in noise and chaos and sensation. Quiet is terrifying.

do you think he strode back from the enlistment office and went right to his room, hoping he wouldnt bump into ellwood, and just picked up the one book and two pairs of pants and just thought 'that'll do.' he gets to the front and immediately dives into the mud to avoid a shell and hayes is like 'poor sod, oh well we never change our clothes here anyway so two pairs of pants will last you three weeks, you're golden'

meanwhile ellwood arrives at the front looking like the lead in a romcom with an entire trolley of customised luggage emblazoned with 'S.E' in brass letters

ellwood watching gaunt get stockier and stockier as each year at preshute passes, unable to tell where the muscles that come from puberty end and the muscles that come from boxing begin. gaunt was still slight and somewhat delicate when they met, taller than him, but lean. by hundreds his forearms have become pronounced - ellwood notices when they sit next to each other at study hall or at dinner, noticing how gaunt's delicate hands stay the same even as his arms fill out, a strange and endearing contrast that he can't help but write about in his secret notebook poetry. the fine hairs on the backs of gaunt's hands become darker and thicker, a chestnut brown.

by lower sixth, gaunt is known as a formidable opponent in the ring, and the muscles of his neck and shoulders are so broad that ellwood feels gaunt could sweep him off his feet in an instant. in fact, its happened before, during rugby, when gaunt tackled him to the ground and they both came back covered head to toe in mud. gaunt claimed to hate rugger, but he didn't look like he hated anything when he grinned in ellwood's face, offering a friendly hand to pull him back to his feet. there was hair growing on his jaw now, too, tiny stipples of sandy brown, and in the showers after, ellwood realised that the only blond hair on gaunt's body was on the crown of his head.

by upper sixth, gaunt looked so unbelievably like a man that ellwood frequently stopped dead when he spotted gaunt loping across court or making his way to chapel. the war broke out, and his dreams of dancing and long, private walks through the countryside turned to glamorous, gleaming fantasies of heroic war, of galloping across smoking fields and hiding in foxholes, pressed close together; of strong arms waving banners and wielding pistols, of tearing through woodlands on a horse, gaunt's hot breath on his neck and arms tight around his waist. ellwood was more aware than ever of what maitland had said about time running out, and he resolved to give gaunt a poem he had written for his birthday, or christmas, or perhaps for the New Year's celebrations, or maybe even when war was over. one day, soon, he would tell gaunt, and maybe - if he was miraculously, divinely lucky (and he was - he was charmed, as Gaunt always said) - Gaunt might allow him to finally touch those strong forearms, or press a kiss against his stubbled jaw, or run a hand through his sandy blond hair. Maybe.
