Sleepy puppy!!
So, I've decided I'm going to turn this blog into a place where I can post my fitness and weight loss goals and achievements. I'll also be posting my fluffy puppy, Jem. I'm considered severely obese and it is time to change that. I'm 29 years old, 220 pounds, and live a sedentary life for the most part. I'm going to start slowly and work my way from there. I'll be taking night walks and changing my diet and documenting those changes here. Slow changes at first!! 😊😊

Me shooting my new SIG P320. Any respectful criticism of my shooting, grip, stance, or anything else are more than welcome. I’m still adjusting to the 9mm and the gun itself.
I think most of your grip issues come from the gun potentially being a bit big in your hands(which is why they get moved around during the recoil). I have the same problem with most full sized/full frame handguns due to my small hands. I try to compensate for this by tightening up my grip on the gun.
In terms of stance, you seem pretty good but I would lean forward a little bit more for proper isosceles stance.
I’m not a professional so take this advice with a grain of salt.
Kudos on wanting to improve your stance and grip. If you keep at it I am sure you will have it down pat in no time.
I, like cerebralzero, am not a professional either. But I am a member of the West Point Pistol team, so I’ve done a bit of fine tuning my own techniques the past few years as well as a lot of personal coaching for teams that competed at national and international levels.
Some notes: 1. You seem to be handling your recoil well, but a common tendency with new shooters is to push the gun down when trying to mitigate recoil. If you find yourself hitting low, this may be one reason why it is doing that. 2. Try to wedge your dominant (right) hand as high into the beavertail of your P320 as you can. Get it firm in there and it will help mitigate some of that vertical rise. 3. Your support (left) hand is the only “issue” I see. See the picture below. I like to cover as much of the grip as I can. Now I have larger hands and I’m shooting a compact handgun in this particular instance, but this technique helps me on all sizes of guns.
4. Reiterating on cerebralzero’s notes: I would also lean a little more into your gun (I’ve gotten in a bad habit of not having as aggressive of a forward lean as I should and it’s something I’m actively correcting) and maybe a tighter purchase on the gun itself will help.
If you ever have any questions, feel free to shoot me a message.

This is honestly my favorite quote. It’s changed how I look at life and religion.
