     between  medication  &  the  monotonous  ,  everyday  schedule  ,  her  days  become  hazy  in  hospital.    there’s  nothing  else  to  do  right  now  &  cassie  can  be  found  in  front  of  a  glazed  window  ,  lost  in  her  own  mind  while  watching  the  outside  world.    normally  ,  she’d  go  for  a  stroll  in  the  clinic’s  garden  area.    she  doesn’t  have  the  energy  to  do  that  today.    it  takes  a  familiar  voice  to  knock  her  out  of  her  dreamlike  state  &  she  turns  to  face  the  source  with  a  raised  brow  ,  expression  shifting  to  genuine  astonishment  when  she  sees  who  it  is.    after  a  brief  moment  ,  cassie  is  smiling  again  &  her  arms  wrap  around  their  neck  in  a  hug.    “  it’s  so  ,  so  lovely  to  see  you  !  oh  wow  ,  what  a  surprise.  “

     nick  fischer  hates  hospitals  ,  his  only  real  experience  with  them  being  the  time  he  had  accidentally  overdosed  ,  joe  doing  what  he  could  to  help  before  rushing  him  to  the  hospital.    hospitals  had  no  good  memories  ,  nothing  good  had  ever  happened  in  a  hospital.    but  then  cassie  was  at  the  hospital  ,  and  nick  couldn’t  imagine  not  going  to  see  her.    even  if  he  hates  it  ,  even  if  the  place  makes  him  feel  terrible  ,  she  makes  it  worth  it.   “ cassie ?   ”   voice  awkward  and  quiet  as  he  walks  in  ,  the  hug  being  enough  of  a  shock  to  send  him  stumbling  slightly  ,  but  he  manages  to  keep  them  both  standing.   “ yeah  ,  uh⁠—  i  was  surprised  too.    to  hear  you  were  here.    are  you  alright ?   ”
