But seriously, I always have found it so compelling that in the older Titans' material Slade never stopped loving Addie.

I hate how modern writers have them always being super dysfunctional/toxic couple and arguing/resenting each other. It's no where near as interesting or tragic as the older stuff.

Being a fan of a morally grey character is frustrating because people will try to reduce them to either being an innocent little angel or a completely heartless monster and both of these interpretations just take away what makes the character interesting

Hey whats the best comic to read first for Slade? I recently got into him and I need to know more about this one eyed bad boy

I would say the 1990 Deathstroke the Terminator run. It’s a very compelling read with badass adventures, goes more into some of Slade’s past, and explores his friendship with Wintergreen.

It’s my all time favorite Deathstroke run and I personally don’t think anyone has written him quite as well since.
