The telltale buzzer shrieked through the dim, copper-lit hall—someone had entered Coyle’s trial. Not a reagent—too clean of a tone for that. Another prime.
Leland snapped around, nerves wired tight, half-expecting Franco Barbi’s smug silhouette. But when the static cleared and the figure came into focus, he exhaled—just Vince.
Clingy little bastard.
The guy had taken a shine to him for some reason, like a stray dog that decided Coyle was home. He never understood why the higher-ups at Murkoff had cleared him as a Prime. Probably some twisted quota bullshit. Easterman had told him to “make nice,” and sure, Coyle would play along.
Didn’t mean he had to be sweet about it.
He relented, slow and unimpressed, eyeing the Prime like a raccoon rifling through his trash.
“Don’t you got your own trial to flounce around in? Or did Murkoff finally upgrade your clearance to ‘annoying hallway décor’?”
Despite the bite in his tone, there was the faintest smirk at the corner of his mouth. He didn’t like Vince—but hell, in a place like Sinyala, anything not trying to kill you on sight was a twisted kind of comfort.

"man coyle, thats so mean!" vincent sniffled but the act didnt last long since neither vincent cared on what was thrown at them. they went back to their normal 'playful' matter
"but nope! i thought i'd pop by to check on my fave funny cop-guy doin'" to be fair they'd be interested on what he did in the trials, you gotta learn form your elders, no?
Coyle took a drag off his cigarette, the ember flaring orange in the low, sickly light as he stared Vince down
“Christ,”
He muttered, smoke leaking from the corner of his mouth.
"Ya sound like a damn telegram"
Another drag. A long exhale.
“I’m doin’ just fine, sugarplum,” he said flatly, voice laced with that dry sarcasm. “Got my daily dose of hallucinogenic gas, a few screams in the vents to keep me company. Real five-star accommodations. Only thing missin' was a personal visit from Murkoff’s favorite cartoon mascot.”
He didn’t smile, but there was a lazy glint in his eye. He jabbed the cigarette in Vince’s general direction.
“So. What’s the plan, kid? Gonna trail me all day and take notes? Or ya here to critique my form like some kinda psychotic ballet coach?”

vincent thought for a moment on what they'll do making an small "hmm" noise in progress, tapping on their chin with their finger. if there's one thing the cop got right was the fact that vincent was pretty cartoonish; perhaps it was the way they spoke or the way they moved a bit animated. it was strange to see someone like vincent in the same ranks as the others like himself or franco barbi
