"I'm starting to believe that nothing is really impossible, just incredibly unlikely. But a lot of incredibly unlikely things have been happening lately, so... You never know." He agreed, albeit in a roundabout way that often came from department heads trying to get out of problems further down the line.

"Was he really romantic as a teenager? I don't have much access to his memories then. He mostly seemed like a standoffish, entitled prick?" Q suggested with a slight wince, pretty sure he would be paying for that comment later but it was sincerely what he believed to be the truth.

"I sometimes get snippets of his memories of you, is possessiveness really romantic? All my interns seem to believe it a 'toxic' trait." Despite not being far off the age of most of the interns, their words sounded so odd in his mouth. "I don't really know. I'm quite content now - I enjoy my job, my staff, my agents... I like it when you visit. I'm not sure I'm designed to want the way normal people do."

The redhead looks at him before she finds herself chuckling. Q's comment about Marcus' previous life had her off guard. "I wouldn't exactly say romantic." She nodded. "Would you believe that he and I started on the wrong foot?" She recalled that memory fondly. There was a time when she and Marcus didn't like each other. Or at least, she didn't like him. "I didn't like how he used to behave." She leaned on his shoulder, recalling their childhood days. "I remember getting in trouble one time because I didn't like how he used to talk to me. I don't remember if it was because I slapped him, though." She found herself touching her cheek as her thoughts went to that memory. "I do remember getting slapped by the person I used to call father because of my behavior towards him." Then Natasha looked back at him. She could see the difference between Q and Marcus so well. And yet, at the back of her mind, she wondered if things were different, would Marcus fit in just like this? "His upbringing was different. His language is something that no one would truly understand. I can't say I understand him completely. But I know...I know he meant well." Listening to him, she couldn't help but smile. "Well... even if you're *designed* to be that way, I think it's possible. For example, would you want me to visit you often? Or...call you often?"

The android looked up as soon as Sherlock spoke to him and offered a small smile as a greeting; humans enjoyed these small moments of comfort that displayed non-aggression, after all. He did, however, get to his feet and brush his knees off as though it was a natural habit rather than just something programmed into him.

"I was simply ensuring that the larger particles of material resting on the carpet were removed. I would have hoovered but I would prefer not to disturb you or Mrs Hudson, as I understand her comfort is a priority." He explained, hands clasped behind his back as he rested on the balls on his feet to stretch out the cords within his legs that got reduced synthetic-fluid flow as he was kneeling.

"If you would prefer, I could set a specific cleaning schedule but, at the moment, I am just cleaning when there isn't much else for me to do." Cleaning was an easy task, to be put simply - it was never really finished so long as one knew where to look for dirt.

Anyone would have thought that Q looked like a human. Or at least that's what Sherlock thought while looking at Q as the android stood up. "It's quite early in the morning for you to be up and about." He remarked. "Usually, I can live with a little dust in the flat. Dust is good sometimes, you know. It tells you, a lot of things. Like if there's a stranger or intruder visited the flat."

Though he's grateful that Q didn't start cleaning immediately. The old him would have been upset if he started cleaning. "My piece of advise is to not clean daily. Especially during an ongoing case as any minute detail is a possible data that could be logged for evidence."

Now that he remembers… it's already morning. "Mrs. Hudson wakes up at 7 AM. You can check her during that time. If you think there's nothing else to do, you can also try brewing me a coffee. Just like now." He said as he offered a smile in return.

The only things that had really changed as they had both gotten older was the nature of their teasing; as soon as Marcus had realised acting like a pompous brat around Nat was a terrible idea, they had become like this, though it was definitely something more... Interesting at this age. It made his heart thud with the kind of excitement that only used to be brought forth during the kill. Not so much a thrill of violence - more the ultimate outcome of getting what he wanted.

"Escort, of course. In the most demure sense of the word." He grinned at her and reached out to touch her cheek, so familiar with her expressions to know that he would already feel the heat of dilated capillaries beneath her perfectly done makeup.

"Alright, so long as whatever you're doing allows us the time to have some actual fun after." The hacker agreed after a moment of pseudo-deliberation. Like he would give up an evening with Nat for the world. "Want me to stay out of the way once we get there then?" He checked as he offered his arm to her to take her out of the room. "I do hope you've laid on a limo." A smirk and then a light kiss to her cheek.

It's evident in Natasha's face how much she seemed to glow with Marcus at her side. It's also way too obvious not just from the blush on her cheek despite all the makeup but also with her smile as she giggled. She hummed in response, leaning to his touch for a moment. "Yes, an escort. I'm sure that you'll be able to do that."

She then pressed her lips on his cheek, placing a kiss carefully to avoid leaving a mark on his skin. Then he circles her arm around his. "Yes. We'll have our time after it this." She was supposed to be on a day off after all. She nodded at his question as they finally began to head outside. "If you can give an area where I can move, I'll appreciate it. But I'd still like for us to keep an eye out for each other."

As they finally reached to the door, there was indeed a limousine coming to a stop outside. "Apparently, they insisted." She responded, referring to her mission. "Shall we?"

Steve knew they all needed space right now, especially him and Natasha. They were closest to Bucky, he knew that Buck and Natasha had a special bond. Something they didn't talk about with anyone else, but he could see it in his friends eyes. Although the world had been torn apart, he was still at peace. Because of her. He had spoken about how he was going to tell her when all this was over, that they could be together. Now Steve wished he had pushed him to just do it already.

He looked at the bottle of whisky with a sigh, his mind going back to 1944 and needing to try and drown his sorrows over losing him. To watching his friend fall to his death, now he knew Natasha had gone through he same thing. Watching the one person she cared for fall. "Well it's been a long time since I got this out, first time I ever tried to get drunk was when --" He paused for a moment as he swirled the whisky in his glass before finishing it. "Was when he, well when he died the first time round. I can't get drunk now either but -- won't stop be trying. I've done this grief before, but doesn't make it any easier."

Natasha should offer something. Words of comfort. Or perhaps, at least an attempt to say something…meaningful.

But all she could provide is an understanding nod as her lips pull and curl into a soft, sad smile. Emerald eyes looked at Steve, filled with nothing but guilt and regret. Guilt for not trying enough. Regret for not doing enough.

"I'm sorry, Steve." The words felt difficult to push out of her mouth, her voice breaking as she did. Biting her bottom lip, she added. "I… I tried. I really did. I begged him not to, you know." She tried to smile. She doesn't beg even when she's held at gunpoint. "Do you mind if I... share a glass with you? I feel like I need something strong for tonight."

Q was used to Nat's body being close to theirs from so many shared moments with Marcus, even before Q had really existed in the fleeting memories that crossed the older's mind during the night. But it felt much better to be the one in control with a warm, comfortable person snuggled against him like he was precious to her as well.

The statement had him blinking slowly, silent as he considered. "I'm not sure those things can exist in the same space - Marcus being safe and happy and me." He admitted quietly. "But I appreciate the sentiment." He gazed back at her, leaning his cheek into her touch despite all knowledge that she was not for him.

"He just wants to make sure you're safe and taken care of." He added after a moment, trying to stay on topic and not work out the hex code of her irises; there were too many variations, and he would have to stand there for days. "What he would really like to do is take your hand and take you somewhere you could both just... Be yourselves."

Natasha's features softened as her smile shifts into something a little more gentle. "I understand how impossible it may seem but it's not…completely impossible, isn't it?" The suggestion she made might be a little unnecessarily and sure, Q won't be here if not for the project. But seeing him filled with curiosity, innocence and kindness, Q is just as real as Marcus is.

She believes Q. She believes that Marcus wants what's best for her. For both of them. Should their story ended up differently, if they ended up leaving together that night when they were young, she could see the possibility of Marcus' wish happening.

"I didn't know Marcus could still be a romantic." She couldn't help but say as she chuckled before settling into the comfort of Q's arms. "And how nice would that be, if it's just that simple. Marcus would take me away and we'll live happily ever after just like those fairy tales." The smile in her voice slowly fell off. Instead of continuing her train of thought, she simply continued to press Q. "What about you? If you were given the chance to do something you that would make you happy, what would that be?"

she stood to her feet from the seat with such elegance one would assume she were a queen in a past life. perhaps she was. or perhaps she had centuries of practice of mimicking humans in order to wander amongst them without issues. amelia immediately sauntered over, standing beside him with her clutch purse draped across her chest, the bag settled on her hip.

at his side, she crossed her arms over her chest as usual with her signature frown on her lips. " ugh, i'm feeling quite cross with you, sherlock. you're so bloody stubborn for your own good. you're going to make me run for my money in that compartment. " she huffed, her lips pursed slightly in a delicate pout.

amelia then released a sigh before giving him a languid shrug at his inquiry. " if locking you within your room will force you to rest, then so be it, my darling. lest... lest i feed you so you can heal faster. "

Oh Amelia was cross alright. Sherlok could sense in the huff of her breath as she spoke. She was right, however. He was stubborn. It was his stubbornness that had him solved cases even the coldest ones. It was also his stubbornness that made him last all throughout these years, longer than the people he used to know.

It was his stubbornness that got him through the death of the people he knew. It was his stubbornness that brought him… here.

In the end, all he could do was sigh. He's not used to seeing Amelia sighing and somewhat… looking at him with concern. Not that he hated it. It was just… unusual. "I'm fine, Amelia." The suggestion of being locked up by her made him chuckle, however. "Lock me in my room? You're not serious, are you? I'm just… not in the mood to feed nowadays."

"Dim Sum Duck," Sherlock barely had to finish the question before Greg had a restaurant recommendation ready for him. He mentally mapped out their route and adjusted their direction appropriately.

"Y'know what? I'm pretty good, yeah." Greg answered truthfully, a soft smile pulling at his lips. It wasn't often that Sherlock asked after his wellbeing, but Greg usually took it as a positive; that Sherlock was here in the moment, and not mentally off somewhere else, roaming his mind palace.

"How are things with you?" He often worried about Sherlock, and he had been so caught up with work recently he'd not managed to check in on him as much as he usually did. "Feels like it's been months since I saw you for something not case related."

Sherlock blinked in surprise at the suggestion, causing him to let out a light chuckle at the man's recommendation before he nodded. "Dim Sum Duck it is, then."

There was a slight delay in Sherlock's footsteps, following the detective inspector. "Well, umm… that's… that's good to know." Sherlock was never good with this type of conversation, but he would never admit that out loud. Just like how he was never the same after losing his memories, but no one has to know that part now, do it?

"Hm? Oh uh…" What should he actually say when asked this kind of question? It's difficult to figure out how he would have responded back then when he had known him previously. Even with the bits and pieces of his memories coming and going, it felt like it was not enough data to gather what answer would suit a 'Sherlock' response. He went still for a moment, however, eyes darting to his current companion. "Was it months already? Haven't we been…hmm… meeting outside work?"
